Okay, I'm new here. I made a deal and a deposit on a 2025 TRD Sport Premium on March 11, 2025. I have seen many things on other sites about deliveries. Some are saying up to 2 years! My dealer made no mention of the possiblity of a very long wait. I would love to know the truth about this. Your factual comments please. Thanks.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
2yrs to be delivered? I hadn't heard anything like that. If it was true, I would move on and buy something else.

I did a quick search on AutoTrader and found 187 available within 50 miles of me. They're all 2025 and various models. The only thing I would worry about with an incoming vehicle: The tariff that will be slapped onto it, and passed along to you.

    Welcome to the forum.

2 years would definitely be a deal breaker. No way I would wait that long to get a Toyota.

Waited 15 mos. for the wife's BMW but that was 2022 into 2023 because of chip shortage & changing the model from the 22 to the 23 model.

When I check with the dealership they tell me that every 2 weeks they are notified if Toyota "accepted" the pre-order. Once the pre-order is accepted, they tell you what your build date is. That is the sum total of what I know.

That’s sounds like the truth, when I requested my last couple yotas, I was told something similar.

basicly, what that means, is once Toyota builds something like what you want (they do NOT do special orders), and your dealership is due for an allocation, they might be able to secure what you are looking for.

I did use multiple dealerships, telling them both, who ever gets me what I want first, gets my money. I have waited as short as like 3 months, to almost a year.

Spare Parts, Thanks for the insight. I do understand about not really being "made to order". Many of the extras are added once they are recieved in the USA.

Toyota has never done this, ever. They are actively building units already. There is no possible way you'll wait long.
The ONLY way your dealer can sell you a vehicle is after allocations. They have to have a VIN, meaning the vehicle is already in the computer and parts alotted to build it. Once a dealer gets an allocation, meaning the VIN is created, its normally about 65-80 days before that vehicle sees the dealer depending on where you are.
