Today I was looking under my 2024 Pro 4R and noticed that the spare tire is a cheap Bridgestone street tire on a cheap steel rim from the factory. Is this normal?

Yes. Be grateful that you've got one. Most of the 6th gen's don't get one!

Normal. All the Pro stuff like wheels & tires was put on at port so the spare tire is just the standard factory spare.
Really? Even the Off Road oriented trims?

Thanks for the fast responses. I was afraid of that. I would think that even temporarily running a street tire mixed in with mud grip tires would be unsafe.

Sounds like it's time for you to buy a 5th matching wheel & tire! Then you can start with a 5wheel rotation.

I changed all 5 tires to my liking.
I was never a fan of having a non matching spare tire.

No. It's only unsafe if it's not properly inflated or it is old. Think about the tiny little donut spares on some cars. The idea of a spare is to be temporary, unless you're rotating 5 tires like I am doing, and it's only because I went from 20" wheels to 18" wheels and that can fuck with the all wheel drive system on the Limited.

For 2025, upper trims get a full-size spare like before, SR5 gets a donut/temporary spare. Don't know about trims in between.

5th gen Limited's get a matching spare and tire. Everyone else gets a steelie and all-season I believe.

The Pro came with 5 matching street tires on cheap steel rims from the factory. Seems they only swapped out the 4 road tires at port.

If you are driving on trails a possibility is you could drag the "cheap" spare tire and steel wheel over rocks. Plus on gravel roads this spare could get peppered with stones
Aluminum wheels are softer and premium rubber is maybe bigger which could hang lower -increasing potential for damage!

Thats why you see a lot of spares moved to swing out carriers.
