Looking at having my 24 Limited XREAS removed and replaced with a new suspension. Anyone know of a Toyota specialty garage in Connecticut? Talked to a couple of garages but neither of them are that familiar with XREAS and 4Runner lean. Removing XREAS is straightforward but I worry about putting in a lift and not having the lean. Prefer to use someone who is familiar with the 4Runner. Looking at a 2/1 with either Bilstein 6112/5160 or Dobinsons IMS. Open to other suggestions. Daily driver but it will see gravel/dirt/fire roads (some with washboards) and the beach were the speed limit is 15 - 25.

    Thanks, Norm

EVB in Danbury would have been the best option, but they recently closed.

I have a Master Toyota Tech that can remove the XREAS, but he will probably fight you on the lift idea. lol

Would advice to experience a 4runner with those suspension and see if you still want to do it. Just saying because I miss the XREAS comfort.

@Ripper238 That's the place that keeps popping up but as you said they closed. I have been trying to contact them. Think I will just go with a 1" front lift. swapped out my wheels/tires and don't much care for the rake. Do not to go level because I load up the back with 150-300 pounds pretty often.
@kmeeg Funny, Your the first person that has said that. It is one of the reasons I worry about. Don't think the suspension can hold up to the conditions that I will undertake. I am worried about the nose dive I keep reading about. Don't experience that with XREAS unless it's a very sudden stop and no body roll. Have not committed yet. Maybe see what happens when I take it out on beach / dunes before changing it out.

Look up Toyota Performance Center in New Milford, Alex is awesome. Small shop, Master Tech and he will advise you well.

@kmeeg What suspension do you have in your 4Runner now? What are you not happy with?
@Ripper238 Thank you for that info. Can't decide which way to go. Don't want to firm up the daily to much. Truth be told I find XREAS to be firm around the roads in central NW CT.

    Thanks!

On my Limited I'm running Ironman Foam Cell Pro now.
Important item to note, I purchased 1.5in rear springs (not the standard 2in rear springs come with the package). I also reduced the front height to 2¼. With that I got a good ride comfort. Even better than TRD PRO Fox suspension on my TRD PRO.

But something to remember (at least in my opinion) None of these give a comfy ride like XREAS on pavement.

The best suspension I got on my TRD ORP was ELKA 2.5 with dual adjusters. Off pavement it is insanely comfy. But on pavement its not good as its price tag. Just 2 front coil-overs + 2 rear shock over $4000...!!!

    In future -

I'm itching to get a good suspension setup for my TRD PRO. I'm someone who really want ride comfort. So far from what I see / read online Oldman Emu BP-51 is the most comfortable. Other options like Kings, Fox 2.5DSC seems to be not as much comfort. Still researching.
