Purchased a 25 trailsport and kept my 11 with it. It’s been great and is a solid option for road trips with the family. So far I like everything about the pilot aside from a few small things.

yeah in my area anything 2021 or older with under 80k miles is going for close to original MSRP right now and usually well over 75k.

But I guess as long as people pay ~80k for the LC250, Toyota made the right financial call stripping the full size LC away from the US.

Those "savings" you mentioned in gas are very quickly lost due to the cost of the AGM battery and high torque starters.

I repent the decision not to buy heritage when it came out. I just could justify the cost. Now with the cost of good condition used ones is just mental.

It's just rational market place doing its thing based on Toyota intentionally throttling the 200 supply by only selling the most expensive trims here before 2022.

Lots of LC250s out there with 5-6k on the hood making them cheaper than 6th gen 4R TRD Sport. Strange since so many people say how great the new Iforce-Max drivetrain is.

That is the new Passport right? The Traisport trim level. I was thinking of taking my Dad to drive one of those. He has an Accord now but in his 80s finding the car lower than desired to get in an out of. That looks really sharp! And thankfully someone still making a good ole V6

I haven't driven Trailsport. On paper its just an inch taller (7.3 other trims vs 8.3 ground clearance on trailsport). But regular trims extremely easy to get in an out. The drive is very smooth. Since the front hood slants down very easy to guide through the tight spots. If grand kids go in it, the rear entertainment screen is very nice. I love the captain seats if 3rd row always in use. I think 2024+ have optional removable 2nd row middle seat in some trims.

The electronic button transmission selector is something I had to think for a second when I drive especially if I want to do a quick U turn that needs a revers and go forward. On another note, keep any drinks away from it.

Well that is not true. This is a cylinder deactivation engine. The newer v6 have 2 level cylinder deactivation. 3cyl / 6cyl. Early version had 3 level cylinder deactivation. 3cyl, 4cyl, 6cyl.

Also remember this is a timing belt engine. The older version needed valve adjustment. The newer one says "Check for valve clearance." It may or not needed valve adjustment.

I trust you know 2016+ is direct injection only engine. Might have to keep your eye on carbon build up.

2024 (I think)+ have a Honda transmission. Hopefully it will fix the transmission shuddering that exist on the ZF9 transmission.

For older models with 9speed AWD models needed Dealer installed ATF cooler if need to tow more than 3500lbs. My friends Touring AWD needed. I think newer models with 10spd auto AWD models not needed ATF cooler to tow more than 3500lbs. But something to double check.

    Thank you sir!

All good info. I did not know some of these points just learning. I have a good friend who is the service manager at a Honda dealer who would hopefully steer me well on those topics too.

I drove a Ridgeline Trail Sport last year waiting for an oil change and admit it was nice inside and quick wow was it quick. Not in the market for one though myself.

As for Grandkids yeah my Dad would not allow food or games in the back and they are grown for the most part anyway. My Dad just likes his cars and sometimes want one. I tell him enjoy life buddy at 83 why not get a new ride if that’s what you want. It’s fun to go test drive cars with him too, sounds crazy but I enjoy those moments. We have always test driven cars together and bs about them since I was a kid

I had a 2004 Pilot, before VCM messed with engine cylinders. Great vehicle and enjoyed it for 240,000 miles. The new Pilots and Passports are overly complicated. I think Honda has taken a wrong turn in recent years.
I am prefering my 2017 SR5 as I am ready for a more solid truck. I find its old engine tranny design more driver friendly.

Our Daughter-in-law and Son bought the '25 Trailsport also, immediately took the kids on a trip to Florida from Wisconsin, they said it is a comfortable vehicle for them. They did not like that it had a recall for something like fuel press. regulator or something similar, they took it to a Honda dealer in Fla. and got that out of the way, good to go now.
