Is it weird? Amazon Delivery

Anybody else think it's weird that Amazon parks in my driveway to deliver packages?

 

That is weird. I have never seen them nor UPS/Fed Ex/DHL/USPS park in someone's driveway UNLESS the home was off a really busy street. I mean, I've never seen it in a neighborhood but I have seen it when a house was directly off a Rural Road/FM style road.

 

Yeah definitely, I looked out my window and thought, "I guess we're on a driveway basis now." haha

 

Maybe the truck needs to turn around and go back the other way, so why not? It's going to be in your driveway for 30 seconds. It doesn't seem strange to me at all.

 

My neighborhood is a perfect loop. Honestly what the driver did is harder haha

 

I am under the impression that Amazon drivers tend to operate with the "I'm too good to be courteous" ... I've seen them go down one ways, park in no parking zones, fire zones, as along as they leave their hazards on- "oh yo I'm just delivering package"

 

Amazon micromanages their drivers, it’s probably some weird computer order or response to some rule decided on from management.

There was a time where they penalized drivers for using reverse, don’t know if that’s widespread or common these days. I’m sure penalties come for deviating from the route for any reason, etc.

Of course it could be a quirk of the driver too, but I’d sooner assume some weird result of the web of rules to follow or else.

 

Definitely needs to stay in the street.

 

I have noticed this. Amazon drivers are the only service too that will habitually walk through my grass. Not one time has UPS/FedEx done this. USPS doesn't get out of their trucks so I dont know about them haha

 

Package from Amazon was here for delivery......was watching the driver......pulled up.......then took off......was thinkin' WTH?......looked on the tracking the driver stated he couldn't find my front door so couldn't leave the package. Called Amazon and raised he!!. Next day was delivered at the front door!

 

I hate to say it, but I've had USPS do this to me a few times. It's like the driver is like, "F this, this is a tomorrow problem" haha

 

USPS here is worthless.......Sent a letter to Post Master General requesting Omaha Dist Center be closed.....they'd be more efficient!

 

Amazon parks in my driveway all the time to make deliveries and does in almost all the houses in my neighborhood.
I found it weird at first as well. Maybe because all the driveways around here are long, I don't know.

 

Every USPS mail person here walks through everyone's yards.

I see Amazon kids doing it because they park their fucking van in the middle of the street while they deliver to like 10 houses, often carrying multiple houses worth of small packaged at a time which makes sense since many people order so many small things from Amazon.

UPS: seems like its a matter of protocol that they pull their truck up to thr next house even if it's right next door to whwre they just delivered. My guess is its because they primarily ship boxes. Often. Heavy boxes. So its best and least wear and tear on the delivery driver to take least steps carrying a box. (Their packages are different than Amazon) since they move their truck every time they dont walk through yards. Since they dont have a necessity to walk through yards and never really do it they probably avoid it since it would feel awkward for them. ...while Amazon and USPS do have a necessity to walk through yards.

 

Fed Ex in my neighborhood always backs into every driveway regardless of package size. Amazon pulls forward into my drive and UPS will stop and walk up. Think it all depends on the driver in my location.

 

If my wife sees an Amazon truck in our driveway she goes out and yells at the driver "Get That Truck Out Of My Driveway". Lol

 

Could it be because you order so much stuff from them? Don’t be surprised when you receive a wedding invitation to the driver’s kid’s wedding. You’re a preferred customer.

which, incidentally, is why Jet4’s wife gets so pissed at them. She sees the bills.

 

If it's for the purpose of turning around, I don't see anything wrong with it. Actually, I don't see anything wrong with it at all, unless they're parking there to deliver to someone else.

I know FedEx parks in my driveway sometimes to make deliveries. I've never even thought about it as weird. I'm just happy because they're bringing me stuff.

 

Haha! Maybe the real reason she's upset is that she knows he's ordering more truck parts.

 

Looks fine to me, as long as they deliver on time and undamaged who cares

 

She orders everything from Amazon. Mainly stuff for the Grandkids. I order a little. She mainly yells at them because of the size of the truck. Once had a cement truck turn around in our driveway and it cracked the driveway. Anything bigger than a pickup truck she yells at. (The cement truck did pay to fix the driveway,)

 

The day we bought her 2018 when she got home the first thing she said to me was have you ordered my lift yet.

 

This is probably the reason. Truck pulls into driveway to unload a full pallet.

 

To be fair, Amazon is at my house more than anything family member haha

But, that is absolutely not because of me. No idea who it could be, no way it's absolutely my wife.

Oh and to specify to my OP, I'm not mad. Just thought it was kinda odd.
