3d printed mini me

Took 2 years but I'm finally done with the body. Printed in 1/18th scale.
I just have to figure out a way to mount it to the RC chassis. Hope that won't take another 2 years.

You could of bought the 4Runner Mini Z?

 

Did you have to do a BMC/lift to fit those muds?

How did you makw the CAD models?

 

Mini Z's are around 1/24th scale. Mine is 1/18th scale.
Kyosho never released a 5th gen Mini Z.

This looks fantastic. Did you do some magic after they printed to get it looking that smooth? Filler and paint? Any other tricks?

You weren’t afraid to get in there with the camera, and I still can’t tell it’s 3d printed.

 

Lots of sanding and priming. It's printed in resin but I still had uneven areas and layer lines in some areas.
I printed a few small sanding blocks to avoid pressure points and damaging body lines.
You can see some layer lines in the valance but that was a quick fix before painting it black.

Damn those are nice! My wife's 4R is Barcelona. You would be able to sell those easily.
