    Hello all,

Apologies if this has already been answered but couldn’t find an answer esp since the KO3’s came out.

I have a 2019 4Runner trd pro with its original Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are ready to be changed. I go off-roading frequently in the California desert at 12 psi. Mostly hard sand, often big rocks.

    two questions:
-if money is not a concern, should my next tires be KO3s?
-The standard tire size (as it came from Toyota) is 265. Would you recommend increasing to 275 or 285, and why?

    Thanks a bunch in advance,
    Ari

Yes, but also no. Unless it's maybe, in which case it's definitely the way to go.

Welcome aboard. Spend a little time reading reviews and responses on any of the tire threads and I think you'll find tires are probably the most subjective thing we put on our rigs.

Yes, go with the KO3 because it seems you want them.

Go with the 285/70 because it looks cooler than 265

Welcome from Wisconsin! Go with the General Grabber ATx, 275-70-17. Tough tire, long lasting tread which is similar to KO3s, slightly less money than KO3s, severe snow rated, E load rating.

You mention sand, some think less agressive tread is better in sand because it does not break thru the sand compacted under the tire tread. So maybe a medium agressive tread with sidewall protection because you air down? Since flotation is better for soft sand, the wider 285 make more points.

Found footage of OP looking through 4Runners.com for information about tire size...
