For my 2015 Trail I replaced the OEM Panasonic car battery that just went dead sitting in the garage. Got an Optima Red Cap battery instead of another cheap lead acid battery.
I went to Pep Boys here in my neighborhood because they were the same price everywhere and they'd dispose of my old battery. I had asked for the Optima Yellow Cap battery, anticipating that I'll be installing a winch soon. I went for coffee and when I got back they said, "Hey, the Red Cap has more CCA and it's on sale for $45 less than the Yellow Cap. So we installed a Red Cap." I asked Manny, Moe and Jack if they knew the difference and of course they said, "No". I suggested they go to the Optima website and watch the short video that explains the diff' and I explained it to them. I don't have the winch yet and it was less expensive so I let it go. Nice guys at Pep Boys but not the best listeners. :boink:

Funny how under sized the KO2 is. I noticed that when I ran them under my 5th gen. 285 with a 3" lift looked tiny, not enough tire vs lift. Every tire manufacturer is a little different and they have a +/- spectrum they have to fall into. BFG falls on the very low side of that spectrum but they do make a great tire.

Right? I'm glad I decided against 295's. I could have been in a world of hurt.

Hope you have good luck with that battery. Have heard their quality has gone down. Still better than stock or a "normal" batt.

I had two red tops let me down in a row. One was the replacement of the first one. Back in 2005 I had one on my 2004 Cobra, and it was solid. There are definitely better options out there now.

Honestly I doubt it. You've seen mine on 1.5" lift and 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers which run on the BIG side of the spectrum. No BMC, just the fender liner mod.

As you say though, that is at minimum a 10 year old red top. The last few years they have been problematic for some reason. The old ones were great.

No I was on OEM uppers and still am actually. I got rid of the RG tires because I hated them and i'm currently running a 285 but I intend to go back up. Likely going with a 33x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3

Those are SPC arms for reference. ToyTec sells them but they do not make them.

Replaced both front axles yesterday...whoopie...gotta do what I gotta do to keep her on the trails!

Front passenger side axle was bent...NO clue how the hell it happened. I can feel a difference now with the new axles. Next up, install my ditch lights! maybe tomorrow, if I can get the garage warm enough, lol.

SPC is Light Racing. Those are the arms that historically had all kinds of issues. They're on I think their 3rd redesign? Maybe they got it right this time lol

Didn't know that. That is wild, as I've never heard of any rampant SPC issues like what was going on under the Light Racing name. Learn a new thing everyday.

Same company. Google SPC failure. You'll find everything from honda civic tie rod ends to our control arms. In all honesty, I would run stock before anything from SPC I just have zero faith in their products and it's way to much of an imperative part to take a chance. Personally I had my search narrowed down to JBA and Camburg. I shied away from JBA simply because I don't care for the way they mount their ball joint and I don't care for the spacer on the ball joint shaft. That spacer moves the stress point to an area normally not stressed. That area is normally seated into an arm. Just doesn't sit well with me. My personal arm of choice is the Camburg ball joint arm.

They sent the wrong faring. This one not as tall as the correct one. But they are sending the correct one. This is all the pics I have right now. IMG_20190112_143552_186.jpg IMG_20190112_145606_798.jpg

That fairing actually looks good. I kinda like the short look. Might it be less noisy than a taller one?

You'd likely have a rubbing issue if you went off road under articulation.
