Can someone please tell me if it is normal for my front windows to be a different hue than my back from the inside after being tinted? Can you show me what yours look like on the INSIDE?

Factory is smoked glass vs the film your tint guy used. There’s film that better matches the factory smoke but not all places use it.

I got tint on both the front and the back. Not just the front. I’m asking is it normal one to be different hue than the other

There are laws in some states that require the front door windows to only be so dark and rear windows can be darker. It is an LEO safety issue so they can see into the driver area of the vehicle with the doors closed and windows up.

I had xpel 70% added to the dyed glass on my rear glass, 40% on the front doors. While there is a slight degree of difference in the "darkness", the hue looks the same all the way around.

Did your fronts start out clear, and your rears started out factory tinted? And then you went to the tint shop and had both tinted? If so, he answered what you're asking.

Interesting. I’ve heard that some have yellow privacy glass in the front and some don’t. So some have issues and some don’t

I had mine tinted with ceramic tint all the way around. My fronts are a tad different tint also, but not so apparent as the OP's photos...

I don't notice the difference at all when driving.

Yeah its made in Japan, and no it wasn't yellow front glass though the dealer had installed some kind of crap film. I had that removed and replaced with xpel all the way around. Once the film was off the glass was just regular looking plain glass.

okay this makes me feel much better. I definitely see the different in yours. What % did you go with? I think mine is more obvious bc I went so dark with the tint that it exacerbated the difference in hues. Thank you so much for the photos

Interesting that your front windows didn’t have the yellow privacy stuff like mine and glwoods do. See glwood54s pictures he just posted above. Thanks for your feedback!

The smoke would still affect the color. I didn't tint the rear though.

My 24 is the same way. I haven’t tinted front windows yet, but from the factory yes there is a slight yellowness to it.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, I think the dark tint just exacerbated the yellowness in the fronts. Guess it is something i just have to live with

When I shopped for tint I was told that each brand has a different color. Some are more gray, some are more blue, etc...so the brand and type can affect the outcome.

Aren’t all 4Runners made in Japan?

honestly idk. I just read that not all 4Runners have the yellowish front glass and that was one of the reasons for it. Idk how true it is lll

Is the yellowish you’re talking about straight from the glass or a tint on it?

As far as I know, only the rear glasses are darkened glass (privacy glass) and it’s not a tint. Front glasses are all clear but dealers often put a tint on them.
My dealership had put a tint on the front windows but I had them removed and ceramic tinted by a 3rd party. I didn’t get any yellowish color from either though

No yellow color on my front windows upon delivery.
Ceramic tint shortly afterwards, again no yellow observed.

that is so weird. Half the people I talk to don’t have the yellow glass but then other people do. I wonder why only certain 4Runners have it

Yeah the yellow is straight from the glass. did more research on it and seems like certain 4Runners have the yellowish UVA glass in the front and others don’t for whatever reason. Multiple tint shops have said they see this with Toyota often
