What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

We're having friends over for breakfast and mimosas, then day drinking. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning. Lucky for me my wife doesn't drink, always have a dd.

 

Neighbors rain gauge showed 2.1" from Thursday night rain. Beautiful Saturday here in San Diego today.
Next week more rain for several days. Time to make a big batch of soup.

Follow Up: Wife made Italian Soup recipe we found on the web, she really worked hard at it with some fancy fresh spices. Turned out just ok, but good enough for me!
Monday was another beautiful day in San Diego, rain is supposed to come in at 3:00am Tuesday morning. Heading to the Tuesday Special Prices at the Movies.

I'll probably make my signature Albondigas soup tomorrow for dinner.

 

From what I've heard, I'm almost positive I'd like the way they ride.

However, I'm kind of picky on the lift height. I want to stay somewhere around 1.5" up front. I haven't kept up much with lift options on Pros but are there any out there for that lift height?

Those look just like my SPC uca’s I had installed last year, did they provide any updates on the new ones? Just curious as honestly they look the same as mine (which I have had zero issue’s with). Thanks

My overall lift from stock sr5 is 1.5-1.75 front lift and 0 rear. I simply added .25" top hat spacers to the trd shocks(since they are 1" taller then stock sr5). Enough to clear my 285s

I'm really impressed how smooth the ride is.

 

Took her for a 350 mile trip to my hunting property to frost seed, hand 2 additional stands and play on the trails.

 

Rolled over 7K mi today.

 

Took Casper in for a wheel balance. Had an alignment done about 2 weeks ago. Didn't quite fix the issue. Wheel balance fixed the issue today. No more shimmy.

 

Do you have a white 4runner you've named Casper? That's legen... wait for it... dary!

The new ones look similar but there are multiple differences. The arm is now larger, the ball is larger, the balljoint design is no longer telescopic, the axis bushings look the same from outside but are different on the inside.

I believe some new design were available in some places in 2024 - does ur part number say *35480, with 35102 balljoints*

I called back the dealer as they have been calling me to schedule my 6-month (free) maintenance. So I scheduled it; will go in about 2 weeks.

It’s due for its tire rotation (which I will not get as I literally just got new tires a week ago), check fluids, and multipoint inspection.

The reviews from my dealership service seem to be good but I’m hesitant on going based on what I read here.

I had a bad experience at Weiss, now Victory, Toyota in St. Louis. The dash cam caught the mechanic running the shit out of my truck , flying down an alley with potholes and speed bumps, they offered me a free alignment. I now go to Seeger Toyota and they have been fantastic. My college age daughter had a great experience at Toyota of Murray Kentucky, they treated her great and didn't try to up sell her. There are good dealerships out there, just do some research.

 

Let's see how long this last. I love the heritage colors with the AG color (the rain this week destroyed the 4 hour clean I did last Saturday )



Also added a few stickers on the hatch (don't tell my wife).

 

Glad to know there are good ones out there. I’ll geofence my truck so I’ll know if they drive it off the lot and will know how fast they’re going.

I read the reviews for the dealer I’m going to and a few of them mentioned having to drive to this service center from other cities as this is better than others.

 

Dang, ya 25xxx is not the redesign sku. However, 2023-24 “#25480” and “25002 upgraded replacement balljoint kit” come with improved sealed joints instead of grease zerk, but I think arms & bushings are same.
Update: shop told me, and showed me, my sealed balljoints failed - they had play already . Switching to sealed wasn’t enough, I wasted that $200.

 

Took heavy Carhart coat & Snow brush/scraper out cause we ain't getting no snow here!! I told my wife (she's been asking what I want for Bday next month) decided I want the Fitcamx 4K Dash cam. After reading the OP report of dealer's mech beating his down alley that did it. I don't go to dealers for work unless it's warranty, but just for over all driving W/all the morons & scammers out there. Not commuting is a big plus but for $166.xx it's worth it. Her comment was Something for someone wh has everything. Said well I'll just buy it my self. She laughed & I will be ordering om my Amazon soon.
