Getting stuck happens... getting out is usually an art form of some type.

Exactamundo. Thank god these idiots didn't have a kinetic rope. You can see the amount of force generated when that non-stretchable rope/strap pulled tight and whipped that Tacoma around like a toy. The dude got a pretty good running start - and if he had a kinetic rope he would have stretched it out pretty good. But a lot of additional momentum/energy from the running start would have transferred into the rope when it stretched - and when it reached the limits of its stretchability it is likely one, or both, of those guys would have been very sorry. It looked like that 1 ton diesel was buried about up to its hubs. When the kinetic rope would have snapped back it would have been with greater force than the static tow rope/strap imparted when the Tacoma pulled it tight. I doubt it would have significantly moved the diesel - as TrailSpecial22 pointed out the driver of the diesel was doing nothing to help. When the static rope/strap pulls tight - the front wheels of the diesel aren't moving at all - so the guy was not trying to help/drive out during the pull. My guess is if this was done exactly as it was, but with a kinetic rope, either something on one of the trucks would have catastrophically failed - or that Tacoma would have gotten launched into the woods/brush to the left of the ditch. Maybe the initial jerk wouldn't have been so bad with the kinetic rope - but with the weight and "stuckness" of the diesel the Tacoma was not gonna be the hammer in this situation - he's the nail.

Can't tell from the video - but surely the Taco would have tried a more gentle pull first? If the Taco driver's thinking was "what the hell, balls to the wall on the first try" - he's in for a tough life.

In the not so grainy video with the Tacoma, The 1 ton is actually spinning tires while the Tacoma did whatever that was

Watching it 5 times, it looks like a 1 second spin if that and then nothing. Gotta give it gas all the way until youre out, even with that violent snap back
