If you’re reading this thanks! After driving my 98 jeep Cherokee for many years I bought a 4th gen V6 4Runner. I’ve had it a few years now and love it. I’ve been changing parts that need replaced but am wanting to work toward more on the cosmetic things now. I hope to have this vehicle for a long time. And am even debating on putting an engine in it when the times comes instead of getting a new vehicle. What do you owners think, is that something you would do as well?

    Welcome!

I think you’re on the right track right now. Replacing what needs replacing when needed.

When and if the time comes to replace the engine, it will depend on the feasibility at the time.

Welcome from Wisconsin! An engine rebuild is more cost effective than a new vehicle... if you keep the vehicle in good shape you almost have a new vehicle.
