275/70R17 Pictures

any tire rub..? I want to put 275 as well. I currently have a 1 inch front spacer to level (cornfed) with stock tire size AT..
I did have 1 inch wheel spacers ( spidertrax) but took them off since I was rubbing full wheel lock in reverse both sides..

debating going with 275/70/17 or 255/75/17.. any feedback will be appreciated.. thanks!

 

Know this is an older post, but here's a 21 4R, w/ Konig 6 shooter wheels & 275/70/17 Firestone Destination XTs & Toytec lift that's roughly 2 1/4in front & 2 in rear.

 

No rub. I have 1" spacer as well with stock wheels. Spacers will make you rub for sure.

 

Falken Wildpeaks AT3W LT275/70/17 w/ Dobinsons MRR suspension.

 

Front: Fox 2.0 performance series 2 inch lift
Rear: Eibach 1 inch springs
Wheels: Method 701’s
Tires: KO2 275/70R17

My actual center hub to fender numbers were a bit surprising though.

Front left - 19.25
Front right - 19.25
Back left - 22
Back right - 21.5

Fresh lift (still needs to settle)
Front Left - 22.25
Front Right - 22.25
Back left - 23.5
Back right - 23.25

Did you have any rubbing before adding the 1” spacer? I have a stock 2019 sr5 premium and the wheels I’m looking at have a +7 offset (the TRD wheels have a +4) and I’m wondering if I will get rub if I go with a 275

 

I haven’t had any rubbing.

 

My understanding is that all 4Runners are a bit unique. A number of members run 275 on stock set ups with no problems. I have a '22 ORP with OEM suspension and wheels (getting ready for Dobinson's 2.5 X 1.5 IMS lift). I put 275 Toyo Open Country A/T III s on it and had to do a wheel well liner push and minor trimming.

 

3” OME front springs that yielded about 2.25” of actual lift. 1”Bilstein B12 springs in the rear. OEM shocks on all 4 corners. I’m running LT275/70R17 General Grabbers. Heavy as hell, but ride nice when at 18psi off-road.

 

Eibach Stage 1 lift, LT275/70R17 Nokian Rotivas, no rubbing.

If you get a chance, please share some pics on trails to see how they are on trails with rocks. I ordered Nokian Rotiva LT275/70R17 Load C since Falken Wildpeaks are crazy heavy, even more than Load E tires. But when they arrive I did not feel comfortable about the sidewall. Please prove me wrong and convince me to get them next time. I even emailed Nokian customer care to ask more details about the sidewall but no response from them.

I'm guessing you mean OME shocks...the ride with oem shocks and that lift would be horrible.

 

I thought on a TRD Pro 275x70 17R would fit with out any modification as they are only .6 inch taller tire ?

 

I do know they are 1/2" wider and have a +15 mm offset.

what tire pressure do you all use on pavement?
Alternatively, what’s the lowest pressure when airing down before risking breaking a bead? 15 psi?

 

So far on pavement I’ve been setting the pressure around 38-40psi and it feels good.

I’ll monitor the tread depth in 5k miles to see if it wears out evenly.

eventually I’ll probably get a small lift with eibach springs but so far no issue with the stock setup up.

I have Falken wildpeak at3w load C which are slightly bigger than a typical 275/70r17 at 32.4in according to their website. I could feel the tire barely rubbing at full lock in reverse so I trimmed the front fender ever so slightly and now I can easily put my whole hand between the tire and the front fender. Did not have to remove mud flaps are there’s a decent gap.

The only one who checks my mpg's is my wife, she always wants to take her Rav4 Hybrid when we go somewhere because it gets 40+ mpg's, but it's a Betty car and I'm a guy.

 

Its not the height of the Falkens its the width, they are 11.0" which is wide for a 275/70r17. This is why they rub but yet the infamous chart has a green square.

 

You're right, the width definitely has something to do with rubbing.
Probably a little bit of both since they're taller and wider than a typical tire of that size.
Also that chart is based on stock off road tires with an offset of +15mm. TRD wheels are +4mm

Here are the official measurements compared to the Toyo AT3s:

although with minor trimming, they fit perfectly fine. Yesterday I put them to the test at full lock and fully articulated. Not a single time were they rubbing or made any contact.
Also on the plus side, my speedo use to be slightly off with the stock tires (it read 77 mph at 75mph) and now it's dead on (speedo shows 75mph when gps shows 75mph)

 

I have an ORP with Eibach stage 2 lift, 2”front and 1” rear. I just put on some Toyo Open Country RT Trail in 275/70/17 with the TRD wheels and the tires clear no problem at full lock in either direction. I looks great and I’m glad I didn’t have to do any trimming.
