I have to drive to work at night and I’ve been driving my 2015 Tacoma for a few years. The Tacoma is the first vehicle that I haven’t had to upgrade the headlights. They were the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been driving my wife’s 2015 4Runner lately and the low beams are horrible. I’ve been making adjustments and the beams seem to be aimed too far to the right, off the side of the road. The owners manual has no information about adjustments to the headlights. Is there a horizontal adjustment screw that I’m missing? TIA

Since moving to the 4runner, one thing I miss about my 2014 Tacoma is the headlights! Many complained about them but man, I thought they were great. I'm also trying to decide what to do with my T4R headlights. Sometimes in town it seems like they're not even on.

if its like the previous gen there will be 2 screws/bolts on the back of the light. Remove the plastic shroud that covers the top of the radiator and you should see them, one is for vertical and one is for horizontal, I think they are swapped from the pic below though. Let us know what you find, I haven't had to change the horizontal on mine yet so I haven't really looked for it but it would be good to know what's back there.

    Hello jkriner/4runningMan

Did you find a way to adjust the horizontal aim of your 5th Gen Low Beams? I just imported my 2016 5th Gen T4R SR5 to London, England and need to adjust the Left/Right low beam for the RHD roads over here. Workshop guy telling me 5th Gen have Projector Headlamps which only adjust Up/Down! Any advice on horizontal adjustment very much appreciated.

    Cheers, David H

I can't say for certain, but you might have a problem there. I think the passenger housing itself is designed to throw more light up and out on the passenger side. I'm not sure any amount of adjustment is gonna "fix" that. And the opposite wouldn be true for the drivers side.

Yep - I'm pretty sure I have a problem! No Horizontal Adjustment Screw on the 5th Gen Low Beam Projector Headlamps, no RHD alternative Headlamps made by Toyota as the 4Runner is no longer sold in any RHD countries. And the vehicle is already shipped and on the docks at Southampton, England! My workshop guy is offering to cut the Headlamp units open and manually adjust the 'baffle' to comply with UK Regulations. I'm reluctant to do this as it could screw up the low beams completely. Any advice/ suggestions welcome.

    Cheers, David H

Not ideal, but if they do get "screwed up" you can get a new set if worst comes to worst.

I wonder if there are retrofits on eBay or Amazon for UK 4runners?
