Hey all! I just picked up a 2016 Limited after a quite a long time of just looking. Back over twenty years ago I was rocking an 86 pickup through the mountains and moon rocks around Reno, NV. Now in Oklahoma City with a lot less off-roading, more dirt roads and hopefully trails up in Creede, CO in spring/summer on occasion.

So far I've only changed the headlight bulbs and all the small interior/license plate lights to LED's and added remote start via Accessorides. Will be adding a roof rack, sliders, and some interior items as they go on sale/come up used.

For the fun stuff, working my way through all the suspension information. So far leaning towards Eibach 2R's with like running just the 2" front and maybe a small 1/2" spacer for the back for a while until I decide to do UCA's and all that. Thinking TRD 17" and thinking the thinner, 255/75R17 tires but I have no clue there yet.

Hesitant to do too much until I figure out how I'll handle the big drop down bumper cover and avoid rubbing. Looking at possible cut or convert to one of the other versions, also as they become available but I don't know.

If its 2wd you will need to do 2" up front to make it "level" like the lower rocker panel level
If its 4wd you will need to do a 1.5" up front to make it "level" like the lower rocker panel level
Typically the highest you will want to go in the front is 2.5", this is basically the max you can run and still keep the caster in check. If you go any higher than 2.5" up front you wont be able to get the caster where your specs for the alignment are.

If you want any rake, you can add to the rear, or subtract from the front.
You can get spacers for the front shocks in pretty much any thickness you want to lift the front up and keeping the Xreas. If they are not leaking i always recommend keeping the Xreas for as long as you can, it rides so much nicer than any of the aftermarket stuff. They are just "soft" shocks.
If you want to do bilsteins or eibach adjustables you can do them, i have used a set of Eibach for one of my vehicles to replace Xreas once it started leaking, they are a fair bit stiffer than stock. Sure no body roll, but the dash rattles more and hard hits like square edge pot holes are "rough"
I also used a set of OEM Bilsteins off a TRD Offroad that were take-off on another of my 4R with Xreas after it started leaking. I like the OEM TRD Offroad better than the Eibach, they are smoother, but they are still no match to the ride quality of the Xreas on road when they are working properly.

Looks sharp! What tires are those? Definitely nice to see the direction I'm heading. I did those same Interior LED's and have the fog ones also, just haven't messed with those yet.

    Tires - 285/70r17

    Fog lights - https://amzn.to/3CVF21K

Interior LEDs - I used Yorkim T10/194 (for doors, map lights, mirror vanity lights) & 31mm bulbs (for dome and cargo door).

For my other 4runners and friends 4runners I used Auxlight, Auxito, Oxilam brands. Didn't have problems.

I definitely have a slow leak of some sort on the passenger front, but it's not affecting performance so far. I do enjoy the smooth ride, been one of the reasons I've been reading so much on the suspensions. In a perfect world I'd be looking Elka, but in the real world I'm hovering around $1500 target.

I got ELKA 2.5DC on my TRD ORP (lost it due to a crash). Though ELKAs are just over 4000bucks they are insane comfy off pavement. First time on gravel / rough road me and Mrs laughing where we see bumps and in perfections and inside the car we don't feel any. I was about to get Kings and the shop said ELKA are more comfy than Kings.

For my TRD Pro I'm thinking to try OME BP-51 as some say it can dial in to dangerously softer levels. That sound like my needs. Haven't decided yet.

Nice! I moved to Reno from Anaheim, graduated from Sparks HS then moved to OK a couple years after. Miss the mountains and weather from out west
