Anyone put a ski rack on a 2019 TRD Pro yet? I'm about to pull the trigger, but want to make sure I can fit it in my garage with a ski rack on it.

I'm thinking I can fit it on the factory rack in between the rails, so hopefully it won't add much height.

If anyone has a picture of the cross bars, and the width between the rails, that might help me figure out what will fit.

    Thanks!

Like this? If I remember correctly I fit in 6' 6" garages barely and with nothing inside. With something in the racks it would be very very close to hitting or will hit. It adds about 5" to the height.

I have a TRD OR not Pro but I believe the factory height is the same.

The rack on the Pro is different - it's a full box, so it would have to fit between the bars, and I'm not sure if the height is slightly different.

It may just come down to trial and error.

According to Toyota's website the pro is still 6 ft. Not sure if its accurate or not.

I can't imagine the factory cross bars being much higher than they are now if thats your mounting point.

The Pro rack adds 7 inches. I had to measure it before I bought it to make sure it would fit in my garage. My garage can clear 82" and the Pro w/ rack is about 79". The mounting point (the bottom rails) is about 3" off the top of the roof at the top of the rail.

You can probably sell the Pro roof rack and get the standard one off someone (or even trade) if the Pro roof rack and ski attachments are too tall for your parking situation.

Yeah, that's the worst case. I like the look of the Pro rack, but if I can't get it to fit I'll need to swap it out. I have 82 inches of clearance in my garage.

Where are you located? Might help if someone is looking to offload the stock rails for cheap. Then, you could just swap the racks out in the winter

Denver area - still probably a month out from actually getting the TRD Pro, but I'll definitely keep that in mind as a possibility.

    Thanks for the help!

For those of you playing along at home, the Yakima FatCat 4 EVO fits nicely between the rails, and only adds about an inch of total height ..

svphaedrus, hope you are still out there. I know this thread is old, but I just got a 2019 TRD Pro with that super cool looking but hardly functional roof rack, and I want to know the best way to get a ski rack on there. In the photo you posted, I can clearly see how you mounted the front end of the Yakima rack, but there are no pictures of the rear end. That's what I'm trying to figure out. did you just mount to two of the lower crossbars? If so, any pics with skis on there? I'm wondering if my skis will sit above the higher crossbar. Thanks!

Yes, the back is the same. I ended up moving them around a bit to fit best with my skis. No pictures with skis on, but the bindings stick a bit higher than the upper bars.

Perfect! That's what I was hoping. Great! So I can actually stick my ski rack on there this winter. Great news. Thanks for the quick reply!

What does that look like with skis in it? Won't they hit the rear round bar of the rack?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a Thule rack, and you can see from the pics below that for this rack, my skis would definitely hit, so I don't see how this rack will work unless I mount them to the rear bar or if I can move one of the lower crossbars to the top of the roof rack.

So definitely don't buy the thule rack I have for a 2019 TRD Pro with stock roof rack.

Has anyone tried getting a cargo box for skis on top of the 2019 Pro rack yet?

Hi all - first post here. Saw this never got fully resolved. Recently purchased a 2019 TRD Pro & live in Colorado. Curious if anyone has tracked down the easiest option for a ski rack with the stock roof rack?

I don't know if it will work.

But my Yakima's also can with some stand offs to mount them too. I just went with the strap since I only have a OR and don't need the extra height. Sorry I don't have pics of the extra mounting accessories that came with it went in the trash since I dont need it.

    Like this.

Not sure how it would work with our roof rack or if it even would but it was taller than the regular mounting strap.
