I ended up going with a 275/65r20 and not needing any spacers. Thanks for your help though!IMG_4199.jpg

Looks great man! I was all set on getting the 275's as well and then I decided to go 285 thinking I would just do a little more heat gun to the inner fender well. I had no idea the upper control arms would be an issue. Glad it worked out man. looks good

Thanks! I actually found some 285/60r20 bfg at’s on Facebook market place with about 80% tread for $400. But they were about 2 hours away and I didn’t feel like traveling that far. I was already running 33x11’s and wanted to go a little taller than another 1/2 inch.

    Newest upgrades......
    • S&B Cold Air Intake - 45 Min Install
    • Pedal Commander - 15 min install

CAI is awesome! Definitely more of a sound benefit than performance, but I am very happy with it. If you punch it or anything over 2200 rpm it sounds amazing.

Pedal Commander - Definitely a BIG difference in throttle response depending on what setting you have it on. I landed on Sport +2 and it's perfect. Sport + makes it too jumpy.

    stoked on both!

I see many people doing the side skirt removal on the limited/sport and replacing with SR5 skirt. Is this because the limited plastic molding is not suitable to recycle if you were to remove the rocker panel and solely use the limited plastic molding as protection?

i'm not sure I fully understand the question, but most people remove the limited side skirt and replace with trd pro/SR5 molding for looks or to get more clearance. if you remove the limited side skirt it leaves frame exposed which does not look good. the TRD pro/SR5 side molding fits perfectly in the factory holes to attach.

Be very careful with the pedal commander I have a limited of the same year and the pedal commander fried my ECU. Was a very expensive job. I don’t know how to reference other forums but I had a more detailed response there.

I only had it on a few days before taking it off and returning it. the cold air intake I put on gave me the sound and response I was looking for all by itself

Did you wrap the chrome or paint the chrome?
Did you buy the TRD Sport paintable stuff and paint them?

That looks great… I’ve got 2022 LTD. Blue without running boards as well
Want to put the same size tires on!!
Did you need to do anything to bumper liners to fit tires… in front? I know back is fine

After I put the 3 inch lift on I put on the 285's. I had to use a heat gun and push in the front fender liners slightly. The bigger issue was the tires rubbing on the Upper Control Arms at full turn. So I bought 1/4 hub centric wheel spacers and it worked perfectly. I actually like that it gave it a little wider stance but with the spacers only being 1/4" I didnt have to sacrifice safety or handling.

285/55-20 will fit with a 2.5” lift up front
The 2.5” lift is a fair bit easier to get in than a 3” spacer and is also easier to get the alignment into spec.
Loosening the lower A-arm bolts and unbolting the lower ball joint from the A-arm is the way, you can swing the lower A-arm out of the way and drop the shock low enough to get the spacer on top of the shock. Just use red loctite on the lower ball joint bolts and reinstall.

Unbolt the lower fender liner from
The bumper and poke a new hole in the bumper about 3/4” further forward and move the fender liner and clip to the new hole and reinstall the bolt. Takes about 5 mins. Pinning the fender liner forward is pretty much a must when going wider.

I ran a 285/55-20 BGF AT and a 305/50-20 general grabber on a 2” lift on my 2012 4R limited before going to new shocks at about 2.5” lift. Pinning the fender liner forward is all you gotta have. 2-2.5” of lift is all it takes.

you would still have to do some slight inner fender heat gun work but very minimal. when I bought it I did a 2 inch front lift and
265 65 r20 BFG KO2. Had to use my heat gun and push in the inner fender in one spot on each side because it would barely rub at full crank. then I went with the 3/1 lift and went from the 265 and jumped to the 285's. I know with 275's you'll just have to do a little heat gun fender work but you won't have any issues with your upper control arm rubbing.
