Undercoating

I am thinking of undercoating the truck (2020) very minimal surface rust.
Any experience with Krown.
is it much different from fluid film?

Should I remove the skid plates before I take it for application?
front skid, middle skid and transmission skid....

 

I would remove them all. Plus drop the rear tire.

 

That's not needed. Krown has long wands that spray into the smallest and least accessible spots.

 

The only cons that I got from researching krowns was that it keeps dripping on the driveway.. is that true? How does it compare to wool wax? Or NH oil...

 

If you are able and care to, it’s still worth removing the spare and skid plates to make a more thorough application easier to do. But it’s not the end of the world if you dont, especially if you take it to them for touch ups. The benefits of just paying someone lol. I don’t have a Krown location near me, but if I did I think their service would be worth it.

I’ve heard the stuff drips for a while, but eventually it must stop once the excess comes off. Could be worth it to park it in the street for a few days while it’s done dripping.

 

I also came across a product called PRP "Platinum rust proofing" which is also oil based, little thicker than NH oil and Krown so less dripping and thinner than woolwax, but creeps well..

I am doing some research on the different products. I think the installer is more important than the product. And no holes drilling is necessary in the 4Runner (Krown wants to drill). the bottom plugs can be accessed, also the door plastic sills can be removed....
