    Howdy!

We have a 21' 4Runner Limited that we want to slightly lift and level so that we can run slightly more offset wheels and slightly bigger tires. The goal is to widen the stance instead of having wheels/tires tucked so far under it. If the tires were flush with the fenders or stuck out 1/4 - 1/2" we'd be happy.

We're having a hell of a time finding the lift, wheel offset, tire size information that would allow us to accomplish the goal. This was so much easier on my F250!

For what it's worth, I have been poking around the forums and read a few threads, but wheel offset and tire size information is what I can't find.

Can anyone provide the intel on how to get this done? We want to buy the Eibach Stage 1 and UCA's but not until we can figure out the wheel tire offset combination.

    Thanks, y'all!

You can put a +2.5" up front and a +1" in the back and have about 1/2" of rake but look practically perfectly level.
After you do this you can put any number of tires on your factory wheels and the tires fit, not rub, and sit flush with the fender.
Me personally i prefer the 305/50-20 General Grabber AT/X tire, its semi aggressive all-terrain but is practically silent, rides like a dream, does excellent in rain, snow, sleet, and heat, and lasts practically forever. This tire is not actually much taller than the OEM tire, its only like 0.4" taller so the speedometer wont be off but its much wider which gives a stance that looks MUCH more desirable. With the 305/50-20 on OEM wheels with this lift your tires will be practically perfectly flush with the fender with no wheel spacers or anything. The only extra cirricular thing you need is to pin the passengers inner fender forward, this is the only place this tire will rub.

I have some pix of the tire and fender in relation to each other i posted on the other forum but dang if i cant find it. The rear tire is literally flush flush with the fender, the front might be in a shade like 3/16" maybe. You can see here by the shadow they are not recessed for sure.

After you do a +2.5" in the front you can fit

    275/55-20
    285/55-20
    305/50-20

AH here it is. At the bottom. IMG_0356 (1).jpg

Since the video does give a good look of the front end look here's a pic:

The the past I used 275/55R20 tires but that factory 20x7 in wheels are not approved to run such wider tires. As seen on the video I'm using TRD ORP wheels and 285/70R17 tires, so I'm with in tire manufacturers specification. TRD ORP wheels are the only wheels 7.5in wide from factory to run wider tires.

Wifey doesn't like the stock wheels but she may go for black TRD wheels.

    Still looking for offset info.

A level lift of 1.5” up from and keeping the fear the same height should yield you some rake. In my opinion it is the sweet spot if keeping 265 AT tires. Keeping 265’s you shouldn’t have an issue running 8.5” wide wheels with a zero offset. Many wheels come in this configuration but many not give you the poke you are looking for.

An 8.5” wide wheel with a -12 offset should give you the poke you are looking for but may introduce some rubbing in your fender. Zero offset may require some fender liner adjustments as well.

If you like the TRD Pro wheels check out FNx TRD replicas. They come in 17x8 with 0 offset, which will work for both 265 and 285’s depending which was you go. This won’t give you your ultimate poke but is a safe zone for wheel width and offset that should require little to no fender adjustment. Tire selection will weigh into this as well.
