Besides the elephant in room and the haters that might exist - what would need to be replaced on my 98 4wd SR5 rig to go manual because I want to convert.

    Transmission
    Clutch slave master and pedal
    Computer brain (which one)
    Wiring harness
    Rear drive shaft
    Trans mount

    What else ?
    Transfer case ?
    Rear end ?

This is actually quite a popular conversion, and there are a you can look at (not just on that forum). The center console area has some things you need to swap over too.

    The transmission you'll need is an R150F (V6 4wd) or R150 (V6 2wd), or W59 if it's an I4 (4wd or 2wd)

To Trekkers point there are a lot of threads to check out as it’s at least a semi-popular swap. That being said, off the top of my head you’ll also need a front drive shaft if you have a 4wd (assuming you do b/c you’re asking about the T-case). Transfer case is the same (at least if you have a J-shift). You’ll want an ECU from a M/T but will still need to do some wiring and pinning/depinning to get it to run without codes (there are some threads on this). You’ll also either need a MT brake pedal, or to cut your automatic brake pedal down.

good luck and come join the 5-speed club!
