What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Here in MA if you leave that much space two cars will fill it in.

White size tires are you running? I'm turning 2300ish at 76mph (which is actually 75 gps) in my PRO on stock 265s

Thank you. To properly draft you should be very close. Like, 10 - 15 ft away from his rear bumper. Back in 2022 I drafted an 18wheeler from Austin to Fort Worth. I stayed very close to him and thankfully we matched speeds for about 45 - 55 miles.

I was in a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road; with AT tires. I managed to get almost 28MPG. When I filled up the next day, my tank average was 25.9MPG (I think?)

Drafting does work, but you have to be very close.

 

Then there's the difference between aerodynamic drag between a single and double trailer configuration...also, if the rig is fully skirted or not. Fact: get close enough and you could actually help the rig's mpg (as well as yours.)

4Runners rotors are finally shot at 60k. Went ahead and ordered R1 Concepts slotted/drilled rotors and pads. I had really good luck with them on the GX460 and Tundra.

 

Let us know if the braking is any better. My wife's Rav4 Hybrid has very touchy brakes, the 4runner, not so much.

 

Is that right eh, but the tubing has to weld to frame, no?

Lowering the amount of surface area of the brake rotor won't increase performance. Changing pads can help. Fluid and lines can help with performance and pedal feel, but I doubt anyone is getting the brakes hot enough on a 4R to induce fade.

 

Saw someone post these a few months back, and finally bought off Amazon. Easy peasy to install.

 

Will do. They were night and day difference in performance on both the GX460 and Tundra. Really good bite. Shit I’ve locked up the brakes several times in an emergency.

The pads on the Tundra definitely wore out quicker but that’s due to heavy towing and 37s don’t help haha.

I'd make it bolt on. If it was me I'd remove the hitch. Use where the hitch bolts on to bolt the tube bumper on and have a hitch receiver welded to the tube bumper. It won't be "cheap" but it'll be cheaper then the aftermarket rear bumpers. I'd also chop the exhaust right behind the rear axle.

 

That's my point. But everything has to be discredited here for safety. Ironic, considering we drive off-road vehicles. And yes, I love my pew pews too, fellas.

Just got mine a couple of weeks ago so just some basic amenities so far...

Removed the Carmax tags and hatch sticker
Installed new license plate cover
LED light kit for interior and license plate.... stock halogens are almost useless. I have a NightShade with tinted windows and all black interior, so I needed more light from the inside to see anything.
Wireless charger pad for center console armrest cubby
OEM floor mats - It's a 2019 and came with generic auto parts store mats - how do these go missing on a such a new car? Same with keys, I only got one key from a 2019... (shrug)

 

I need good license plate LED lights. Got interior from Amazon not sure where to get the plates one. Any recommendation? Are you happy with yours?

 

Hard plastic stick on or vinyl sticker? Link?

 

I bought this kit that came with everything - IIRC, the license plate bulbs are the same big ones that go in the dome lights etc

This may upset a few but I traded my 24 trdpro in for the Land Cruiser. I was filled with regret as I walked to the Land cruiser. Then I got in and drove away and all my thoughts about how much I would miss the PRO vanished instantly when I hit the gas and found that with 465 ft lbs of torque I can actually pass now. The disconnecting sway bar is another plus.

 

your stay here was too short! I'd follow you to convince you to stay, but I drive a 5th gen 4R

 

At least you stayed with Toyota.
