    Hello.

I live in a windy area. Sometimes when I open the door of my 4runner , the wind gets the door and opens it wide which can potentially hit other cars if park nearby.

Do you guys know of any door swing limiter which is adjustable so I can adjust it based on my needs?

You have two built in door swing limiters attached to your body at the shoulders.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 35 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 35yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
I did a stint at a windmill/windpower farm that had a fleet of F150s, nearly all with destroyed doors. In just a couple months a brand new truck’s doors don’t latch closed anymore from being wrapped around to the fender. Try to park into the wind, that’s what they told us.

You have doorstop straps for the Jeep, but not for 4runners.

I'd see if I could fashion a bungie cord around the interior handle and attach it to something else in the interior, like the metal loops where the seat back or seat bottom (if two row) latch?

If that's too stretchy, maybe something like a ratchet strap?

Just spitballing, I'm sure an actual product would do better than my MacGyver ideas.

Park nose/front toward the wind. Look for clues of wind direction by observing flags, tumbleweeds, trash blowing in the wind, etc.
If wind angle changes after parking, use tailgate window to crawl in.
Decades of sailing boats can give a good appreciation of wind force effects on man made products. Never underestimate the power of moving air.

Looks like smittybilt (and others) sell some, but they're not vehicle-specific, so you have to find some mounting points or make your own. I'd be concerned about the holding strength of sheet metal close to the hinge, though.

Another thought, while we're brainstorming: Toyota windows work for 60 sec after you shut the car off, if you don't open the doors. How about you:
    Park,
    Roll the window down,
    Turn off the car,
    Climb out the window,
And hit the auto up window switch before the 60 sec is up?

Might want to get a seat cover to protect the seat bottom from muddy shoes, though.

The jeep has straps as the main door stop, not as a backup. (It's an easy door stop method to disconnect when you want to remove the doors).
