Yea if you aren’t looking for a big lifted look, then the 1.6” lift (equilvent to 2” actual ) then the 265’s are a great fit proportionally, any larger of a lift you’ll probably want 275’s to fill in the wheel well so it doesn’t look like you have small tires :benchpress:. I’ve noticed a lot of 4 Runners I see are much bigger than mine and have 2” , 2.5” and 3” lifts and IMO they are just too big for a 90% street, unless you just like the looks. I consider a balance of utility and practically to some degree on most things. Also I don’t want to have my wife climb a ladder to get in each time we go somewhere :)

I went with the 3” Ready Lift and have the stock 265’s still on the OEM TRD wheel. I’m concidering 275’s when I need to replace my OEM tires. I think they look a little small, but not to bad.

Ordered LT275/70r17 Kumho AT51. Will see how it goes. Good reviews, good snow and wet behavior unlike KO2, and comes in C 7ply version for not much weight gain over stock (E is 10lb per tire heavier). Will also swap stock wheels to TRD ones, though on the narrow side, should be OK, and saves some weight gain back..

No lift unless I have to. Maybe will get adjustable and lift front under an inch..

Interesting .. I’ll take a look at these for my next tire set. One reason I steered away from 275 is they only had 10 ply E, nice to see 7 ply and save some weight and ride quality.

I didn’t hear anything about Ko2’ in the snow! I hope they work. Cooper AT3 tires work amazing in snow, and so does the Blizzacks. I was amazingly impressed how good blizzacks do (installed on our other vehicles)

KO2 are decent in snow, I was less then impressed in wet on E rated. Sketchy. My common winter trip (to Tahoe area) involves both. Both KO2 and AT51 are 3peak snow rated.

    Kumho lists 275/70 weight at 46.7. P class stock size are 42.6 . E rated LT stock size is 52.6 . KO2 in 275/70 are 52lb

I will post pictures. 7.0 rims ore on lower end of their recommended width for 275s, but I wanted TRD wheels for appearance reasons, and prefer OEM on a brand new vehicle.

I have the KO2 C rated and my experience is they are excellent in the snow and good in the wet. I have had no issues with them but have to be diligent on rotating them every 5000 miles. That said I will probably try another tire if these ever wear out. Possibly to a 255/75 size.

I can see how C rated would be better, not being as stiff. No such option in 275/70
I think 4Runner does not need E load, unless many other modification to suspension, LCA and UCA, etc to take on the extra weight.

Got the 265/70/17 KO2's installed on Saturday. Previously had 285/70/17 Michelin defenders and I mentioned this in the "what have you done..." thread: The difference in braking, acceleration and handling is incredibly remarkable. The runner responds so much better and I am really happy with my choice. Now for some crappy weather to go play in! IMG_20181117_170137108.jpg

That’s awesome to hear. I was worried about that exact thing... big uncontrollable weight factors.

I think 285 is much to large anyway for a 4Runner IMO, I think a lot of Jeeps can handle it well if you upgrade other components proportionally. No sense having big tires with a small axle that’s not designed for it in the first place!

    You 4R looks awesome!!

Thanks @PCRIDE4RUNNER ! I've also noticed a slight increase in MPG. I am taking a 200 mile round trip this weekend that will be 95% highway so i am gonna see how well it does.

Installed aforementioned LT275/70 C-load Kumho AT51 on TRD black rims. Seems to fit and look well. Will see how it lasts and performs.

It also seems that with LT thread depth they will be smaller than stock size by its half life.

For reference, stock 2019 trd off-road tire was 39.3 lb and rims 30 lb. 275 Kumhos 46.5lb, TRD wheels 25.4lb

So very small weight gain - actually none as will be replacing steely spare as well.

Much better looking and should be by far better performing.

Next thing replace running boards with sliders.

Anybody need five brand new stick tires in SF Bay Area.

That looks great, I love the white letters out. Sure, these things are subjective, but that’s a classic Toyota look that goes waaayy back.

I would like to see pics please. Is yours lifted? I am thinking about 255/75/17's next but it will be awhile. No lift here.

Nice looking rig! I too have a black 4Runner (2018 ORP w/ KDSS). I'm getting the TRD rims and have been debating on 265 vs 275 but after seeing your post, I'm doing the exact same thing you did with the 6612/5160 Bilsteins and 1" cornfed spacer.

Sorry if I missed it, but did you experience any rubbing with the 265 prior to the lift?

Did you notice any change in handling with this exact set up? And how much did you pay for install if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

    Ryan

    bridgestone revo 3 5100's @2.5/1.5. Stock springs & rear daystar 1.5" spacers
I stopped by the Dealership the other day. They had a STOCK Trd pro and the only upgrade it had was 275 70 17 K02's mounted to its TRD wheels. It looked really good. I do know that the pro is 1" higher up front.

If your stock suspension is fresh I would say put a cornfed 1" spacer up front and call it a day. I just hit 55k miles and installed bilstien 5100's set at .85. To be honest it was not as amazing as everyone says it is....but when you get up to higher mileage and want to replace to be proactive it is cheaper than buying stock replacements. Nose dive has been reduced (never was that much of a problem anyway) and handling improved somewhat. It is NOT harsh and I do not understand why some say it is.....Maybe its the revo 3's i am running? I would say for sure it is an improvement over stock in all areas. I will not recommend replacing if your shocks are in good shape. What i can say is that at .85 up front reusing stock coils the handling of the vehicle remains intact and improved. i need an alignment which will be done on Saturday at the dealer (local firestone are clowns and they refunded me last time...toyota in my area does a better job. I do feel that the rear spring might need a small boost in stiffness to compliment the total package if you have like 100lbs of stuff in the back. I am going to test removing all the crap in the back and see if it is improved or the same. For now I am not going to go any higher on 265's as i think it will look goofy if it were any higher.

    My thoughts on aesthetics are

    265's just level the front
275's look great with the front still leveled and will look great if you go 2/1
285's look good at 2/1 and also at 3/2 (i'm going to stay away from these) This size comes with unknown potential issues. If you do not want wheel spacers you will have to buy new wheels and are in about 2k for tires and wheels plus probably the need for UCA's and probably a cab mount chop. In my opinion not worth the extra 1/4 inch of lift coming from 275's. Not that 285's don't look great but my goodness you can get up to 3k just trying to fit 285's and imagine what else you can buy for your 4runner just stopping at 275's.

Forgot to add the picture of the trdpro i saw at the dealer with 275 ko2. Looks like you have to remove the front mudguards on stock suspension.
