Hello, i’m wondering about my 1999 4runner v6 sr5. it’s the 3.4. It’s been pretty snowy here but not too bad and i was driving at around 50 when my runner started to rev to 3.5k just to shift to second. Then it felt like it was losing power. I pulled over and couldn’t get it moving but would rev high. shut off my car and the at/oil temp light came on. Went away and car drove home normally. Any ideas?

Definitely check ATF level. Look for leaks. Has it been serviced recently?

Don’t know when ATF was serviced is there a dipstick for it? and no leaks that i saw i only have an oil leak. Another thing to keep in mind is i have a p0171 code but haven’t had any stalling and i cleaned it a few months ago when it was stalling and problem went away however the code stayed.

Checked it, was pinkish smelled fine and has no leaks and correct level. I am quite low on oil though. Between the two dots on the dipstick.
