hello I have a 1998 SR5 4Runner and looking to do some maintenance. I'm on parts geek and looking at the water pump kit. Does anyone know if I need the water pump with the bypass pipe? and the radiator, do I need to get one with the transmission oil cooler?

    ^Thanks.

OP, you want the radiator with the transmission cooler for an automatic.
Water pump with the hose outlet for 6 cyl.
OEM part number to reference for the water pump against is 16100-69395
It's highly recommended to install OEM on the water pump because replacement is a bit of a hassle.

Okay right on thank you! Is Aisin OEM? I was looking at that brand.

Aisin makes a lot of parts for Toyota. There is some sort of difference for the part to bear the Toyota name that I can't remember the details well enough to explain but yes very close. You still may want to check OEM as occasionally the price difference is negligible. I have had a number of Aisin parts on my vehicles over the years.

If you are doing the timing belt too (which you might as well) aircabinman on ebay has kits with everything you need, most of them are all OEM.

The Aisin water pumps sold in aircabinman's kits are OEM, identical to what Toyota sells.
