If I had $6k, then yes I would be exploring this option and installing it

I've watched that, and other super charger 4runner vids. And I'm with ya. For 7k, and 100 to the wheels I'll pass as well. If I had that laying around, sure. But if I had that "laying" round cash, I'd go buy a Nissan gtr and leave the runner alone lol.

Well, look at the @OVTune and the power gain/cost of that.

I did chime in there, I never thought the 5th gen was under powered. I mean it's a pretty large SUV with a 270 hp engine. But I also said I wouldn't spend the money on HP mods and whatnot, I'd prefer sacrificing MPG and getting gears. But only out of warranty.

Thanks guys..yeah it is expensive and I certainly dont have that kinda cash laying around...if I did though, I'd spend it on this truck. I like sleepers. Besides the offroad capability, I would love to see this truck gain some HP compared to some other trucks out there.

I just picked up my 2018 Runner. First mods: Cat back, Air intake, Dyno tune starts tomorrow. I'm considering the Magnuson SC and would like to include headers at the same time. Gonna let the wallet recover from the first mods before anything else. Has anyone had their 4.0 4 Runner Dyno tuned? It's not cheap but I found it to be well worth the money......around $500.00. I had my 5.3 Tahoe tuned and picked up 4.5 mpg's and that was with no other mods.

Is the Toyota computer even able to accept a tune? I thought it was pretty much locked out from such tom foolery

Would a dyno tune void any warranty claims?

"Tom foolery" I can only speak to my experiences with tuning. I've had two Tahoe's tuned and it made a huge difference in both mpg and performance. At this time I have no idea if my 4 Runner can be tuned but when I find out I'll post the information.

You guys kill me with opinions....lol
All Kenny asked if anyone think the SC is worth the gain for the $......If I had 6K for the SC, I would do it....Nothing better than a 5th Gen with over 330HP......Sleeper is the best......
BTW: I saw another Youtube video where this kid takes his 5th Gen to New Mexico to a shop to get it installed.......Not Plug n Play

@tngo23 From what I understand if you take it to a shop and have it installed Magnuson gives you a limited powertrain warranty for anything related to the supercharger for 3 years 36k miles

I really like it. I have it on the sport setting -2, and it is perfect for me. I went on a little road trip and messed with all of the settings. I haven't seen a change in gas mileage. I have only had it installed for about 1.5 weeks. It feels more alive and it is more fun to drive

I put one on my '18 when I did the lift and tires (285's). Didn't regear, and it feels stronger than it did when stock. Logged in here tonight to look into headers, intake and exhaust for a little more. Drives great, pulls the mountains great (Colorado), and fuel economy has been decent...adjusting for odometer accuracy. The way I look at it is, for a truly off-road worthy SUV, the 4Runner is a bargain. Adding the lift, wheels, tires, and supercharger is still cheaper than buying a G-Wagon, or swapping a V8 into a new Wrangler.

I have a 2018 trd off road and had a blower installed. Did a pre and post dyno. 250 hp and 350 after. Indeed its a lot of cash but I love it to death. No regrets what so ever, we are all only coming around this way once!
