I saw the new Cruiser and wasn't impressed.

I passed two on the highways traveling recently and wasn't impressed either. I identified them by the rear codpiece as I approached.

Also saw my first GX 550 going the opposite was on the interstate so it was a quick view. Had a roof rack, maybe stock? Looked way better than the land cruisers I've seen

Edit - well shit, I guess they aren't out yet? Maybe that was a new LC too. If so, they can look nice

I haven't really looked at which model they are when I see them. Pretty much when I am driving. It just looks so different from the elegant front ends on Beemers previously, especially I liked the "cat eyes."

I've seen them too, although not very many of them. They look so... Plain is the description to me, I guess. Boxy like the Ford Expedition...

It is the Tundra and LX that are suffering from the problem

Thanks for the correction. Somewhere I got the idea that the GX550 was suffering like the new Tundra.

I’m surprised they didn’t eat him alive and chase him out of there, they’re kinda butt hurt dicks on the Jeep forums and they absolutely hate anything Toyota with an extreme prejudice

Yes, but not all 3.4s have the problem. From now on they are all good. Problematic ones are replaced by Toyota

I guess being the last to release has big advantages. There have been some major issues with these new releases from Toyota but hopefully they are the only issues

Victims are getting brand spanking new motors dropped in the engine bay for them free of charge. I wouldn't complain.

They are. Saw one parked at one of the places I work. Seen a few more on delivery trucks. They look nice. Way better than the LC

No, most of them were pretty friendly. If I recall correctly he wasn't talking up as 4Runners the best things sliced bread, he was saying how much better the Jeep was off road.

I had an experience with them that was quite welcoming. I was looking into buying my 4Runner, I was also looking into buying a Wrangler, and those guys gave me some really helpful advice. The general consensus was that for a daily driver that wasn't going to be a trail rig. I'd be better off with the 4Runner. Lot of guys said good things about it.

Honestly, from what I see in groups like this and on social media, most of the hate comes from the Toyota guys. Specifically late model Toyota guys, old land cruiser guys seem super chill.

I like to look at the body, with the exception of the front and rear bumpers. The wheels and tires are terrible, it's the most boring looking wheel I've ever seen, and the tires look like they belong on a Camry.

Unless one really wants the hybrid, I can't understand why anyone would buy this over the GX. By the time you option it out with a few luxuries, it's pretty much the same price as the base GX Overtrail, which looks a little better, has a nicer interior, and the V6.

Honestly, none of these Toyotas do much for me. If I'm spending that kind of money. I'm looking at a Ranger Raptor or a used Wrangler 392.

I thought so, it was quite boxy and had the grill. I was trying to look up the stock roof racks though and it looked like they weren't available yet

I met a 392 on the trail, it's crazy how they have fitted the 6.4 from Power Wagon in there. It's an amazing machine, and unlike toyota, that hood scoop is functional

Too bad I'm so new that I missed all this. Sounds like a hoot. I got pretty heavily into the forums in the mid 2000's and a lot of the that funny crap would happen and it was fun. That's when the forums were pretty much the "it" thing to do. It kind of felt like family or an internet version of "Cheers". I notice that here too so I'm glad I found it.
