Got a Good Deal On Engine Air Filters…..lol

I’m surprised so many people are finding the thicker/prefiltered OE filters. I gave up looking since all the dealers told me those filters aren’t sold to the public, just used when the 4runners are made at the factory.

I guess it’s just like believing that Toyota no longer sells wiper inserts…lol

 

I’m not sure if one is better than the other. I paid $45 last year at the dealership for the -YZZ13 and I think $42 for the cabin air filter. After that I went a stocked up on after market cabin air filters. The Toyota ones were nothing special but I wanted to stick with genuine air filter for the engine and oil.

 

I’m betting they are better, at least better to maintain airflow once the filter gets dirty. In fact, I bet all the warlord toyotas running around with mounted AA guns are still using the original factory filters lol.

 

I have 10K down, probably should have been paying attention to the road.

 

I've also done the K&N thing on several past vehicles & motorcycles. There was always that fine line between not enough and too much oil. Back in '93 when I bought a new HiLux, is when I found out about AEM filters.
There has been 5 more Toyota's and both my TJ's with the AEM filters.

The YZZ air filter is $20.90.
The YZZ cabin air filter is $16.54.

A $75 order usually gets you free shipping, so throw in some oil filters or wiper refills.

You can't do much better than that on quality aftermarket filters anyway.

Maybe some of these other folks can take advantage because I’m a lil stocked up at the moment. (In all 3 filters). I think I have supplies for various fluid and filter changes for the next 5 years covered. The only fluid I’ll wait till the last moment on is DOT3 brake. I’ll get that just before I do the flush.
