Tire Help!

I'm a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff but I'm trying to learn haha...

I just purchased a 2021 SR5 Premium that came with Ironman RB-SUV tires 265/70/17.

They are smooth tires and drive great but I want to upgrade with bulkier, wider tires that mimic the TRD Pro stock tires and fill in the gap in the wheel a bit.

Does anybody know the largest tire (I'm thinking BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As) that I can put on the truck without having to lift it?

Will an all-terrain tire at 265/70/17 look good? Or do I need to buy new tires AND wheels to give it that look I want?

 

It will look better and be less expensive if you go with the oem size and an at tire (Toyo/Falken/BFG/Nitto) If this is only for looks and you're not actually going off road that's what I'd recommend, especially if you aren't lifting or anything else. You may be able to find gently used ones on fb marketplace as well. That was where I got my first set and then when they wore out I bought a new set recently.

 

Yeah I don't intend to do any serious off-roading but like the look of A/Ts. Might just have to sell these ones and get some Toyo's.

 

Here’s Falken Wildpeak in oem size 265/70/17. They have been fantastic in wet and snow as they are also 3pmsf rated. Good enough to get you into your favorite hunting/fishing spot or a Bbq on the beach with the family. There’s lots of options out there. A lot of folks claim the Mickey Thompson are fantastic as well. I’ll probably give them a try next.

 

A tire with them more aggressive tread and sidewall will make a big difference cosmetically, even with stock wheels. Here's mine when I put stock size ko2s on it.

Start here.
I don't think you need to get new wheels to achieve what you want. I think you could safely go up to a 275/70/R17 without rubbing. Use this comparison tool, get a tape measure, go out and see what you can safely fit in there. Make sure you check measurements with full lock wheels turned both left and right. Use the center of the hub as your zero point.

I have no idea how many hours I've spent on this site looking at no lift rigs while debating tire choices. The below are just the MGM reference pics I've saved and I believe all are stock 265/70/17 ATs.

Edit: Just noticed 3 of 4 I posted are Toyos. Guess which way I'm leaning...

 

Run them down until you need tires. No need to be in a hurry to swap and you can't fit much larger on the stock wheels and stock height anyway. I just went stock size Toyo AT3 when the stock tires wore down. I'm on my second set now.

 

I'm a mud terrain fan, so I usually buy KM3's or Toyo Open Country MT's, but for what the OP is asking for, I don't think there is a better tire made than the KO2. They last a long time, they look fantastic, they have great performance both on and off road, and they come in a huge variety of sizes.

I went with Falken Wildpeak AT3's in stock 265/70/17 before a slight lift. Will go bigger when these are toast but so far a great tire and looks good. Have also seen Falken Rubiteks on stock height T4R and looked good if you are more of a road warrior than dirt and rock. Fairly aggressive look and good performance a well.

That's what I have, but no lift. Here it is with the basket off. I'm not a big fan of filling up the holes. I don't want my wheel wells to bottom out before my suspension.

 

I’ve got stock size general grabber atx on mine and love them. Nice soft ride, kinda looks like a KO2 but cheaper and allegedly better on wet pavement.

 

Thanks! 25% on the front. Gets dark out here in Wyoming and I like to see out the windows! LOL. Rest are all stock tint.
