Lift question: OME front, cornfed spacer rear?

Hi all,
I'd love to get just a bit more height and level out of my 2022 trd orp. I think I'll stay with stock size tires for now (with Mickey T baja boss). Trying to keep mpg tame since this is for very long trips.

Can you give me some feedback? I'm thinking ARB/OME 2" front coilovers and then in the rear the cornfed 1" spacer with the stock suspension.

Will I be annoyed? This is a DD but I do a lot of trail riding. I've already scraped up the skids and want just a bit more clearance (will cover the diff).

Thoughts on this setup? Thanks!

Can I get a 1" lift with rear springs on the stock struts?

 

I pretty sure 1.25 or 1.5 is smallest

I used Ironman light load coils and got 1.5 after settling. But I also have 2.5” up front

 

There's no reason you can't use a 1" spacer in the rear at first. Inexpensive way to get the lift. If you don't care for the ride, you can then get some lift coils. Do you plan to replace the rear shocks? I probably wouldn't use stock shocks with a 1" lift spacer. You'd also have to replace shocks if you use a rear lift coil.

 

Thanks. But this confuses me a bit. You say you wouldn't use stock shocks with a 1" spacer but also that I'd have to replace the shocks if I use a lift coil. So there's no way to get 1" without replacing both the coils and the shocks?

 

Oh sure you can get the lift with the spacer using the stock shocks. The issue is you'd be extending the stock shocks 1" by doing that, thus losing that much down travel on the rear suspension. Shocks are best used in the middle of their range. A 1/2" spacer in the rear, I wouldn't change shocks, and you'd probably be ok with stock shocks also with a 1" spacer, but they make longer shocks that would work for a lift. When I leveled my 4R, I used Eibach F/R shocks with the stock springs.

 

I went with 6112s up front set at 1.1" and OE in the rear. This way i get a little more front end clearance/approach, retain some rake + correct the driver side lean. Probably going to go with 255/75-17s for a bit of height while retaining MPG
