I haven't cleaned/oiled the K&N engine air filter on my Z28 in about 20 years.

Do not have one for in cabin, but do have one on the 2002 GSX-750 for the air filter...about 20 years old and still holding up.

You should of seen the AC area under the hood, on the corolla. Acorns, leaves. smelt bad turning on AC. So I made a concoction of myguires soap and a little pool shock and poured it in the fresh air vent to clean the drain hosed it out good.

And I sprayed Lysol in the cabin filter hole before sealing it up. Just to shock the system.

Did you ever try this? Did it fit?

I’m on my second cabin air filter in 2 days. Hoping to find something the chipmunks can’t chew through.

not a fan at all. People forget you have to buy the cleaning kit and re-oil. Too little oil and it doesnt function well. Too much oil and its being sucked in and potentially damaging upstream electronics

For my old cars K&N was fine but with new cars its not a great idea. I have a AEM dry filter that doesn't use the reoiling method, its awesome and i have been using it for years now. It should/may solve your issue since it has the wire mesh like the K&N.

The key with filters like this is as they get dirty they filter better.
