Anyone removed front and rear bumper valence for good?

As they should hahaha. You started by saying you didn't like the looks of the valences, but you weren't ok with taking off your bumper or adding the SR5 bumper, but may be ok with leaving the holes in it and covering them with tape ... and now you like the looks of cutting half of it off and are ok with that??? If you are actually going off road (more than just dirt roads) and using it I get it as it's functional, but it def looks horrible unless you're adding a bumper kit under it. You just seem all over the place, it's mind blowing. But it is your rig, you do you. Let's just hope there isn't another suggestion from someone else tomorrow.

OP if you don't wheel I'd just leave it alone. There's really no point chopping your 50k rig up unless you're wheeling it and need the clearance.

 

You will not like what you see up front. I don’t believe the bumper is well painted under the front valance.

 

That was the selling point for me. 50 lbs worth of tubing is not bad compared to the other "high clearance" options.

For OP I'd recommend an SR5 bumper swap or even just wrapping the valences black. (Black valences look much better than Toyota's beloved silver imo)
No need to start cutting up bumpers unless you need the extra clearance in the back. Or you're adding a winch in the front.

Here's my 80% Off Road high clearance bash bar with side hoops and tire carrier install from early April. Couldn't be more happy with this set up. Fortunately, I'm local to 80% and they're huge supporters of Toyota Rigs San Diego (our local club). Nick at 80% did any amazing job on the install. it's like a roll cage under there now and the relocated hitch (above the bash bar) gave me so much extra clearance (6+ inches) of over the stock, bolt on hitch. This is a killer, much lighter weight setup than many rear bumpers (still running my 2" Icon springs and 2.5 Kings w/ adj reservoirs) with no sag).
