What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

How the morning started (stock rims) ... vs how the morning ended (trail edition rims with new Toyo's in stock size). Now the quest for the unobtainium black oem lug nuts and the trail center caps which I just missed a set of 4 for $100

Nice @Tooly ! I contemplated those but already had one brand new AT3 sitting around so just picked up 3 more of those. Next time I may go with that but plan on bumping to E as I want more protection when offroad in the desert

 

I hummed & hawed about going E load but decided C would be sufficient for what I'm doing. They're replacing Toyo At3's and I decided to go more aggressive this time because I have dedicated winter tires so I don't need to worry about the snow performance of these.

 

Oh no using pressure to get my engine wet!

Hooked up the new trailer to do some work.

 

Wait, What?! We can do that to clean the engine bay? I’ve never tried and mine is super dirty inside.

 

Yup, we can. I've been doing it to my vehicles for years. Make sure you dry them off immediately afterwards. I use a cordless leaf blower. Lots of car details do the same thing.

Felt Small, LOL...maybe when I've worn out these tires....

 

Also....found a new little body corrosion point in the future...
Lower, outer edge of the spoiler, on both sides.
Seems it will move enough on bumps to chip paint but not wear down the primer.
On the task list to pull the spoiler and see about adding some rubber spacers.
Have to pull the ladder off though so it will be left to a lazy Sunday afternoon this summer.

Chemical Guys Foam guns for hand washing is damn fun and effective, if you have a pressure washer. Highly recommended.

 

Drove the 2011 to watch the grandkids while my daughter and her husband went to there C.E. for eye doctor

 

Also installed theses as well. Very good fit, and extremely happy compared to my stock OEM ones. The OEM ones were curling up around the edges.

 

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate when that happens. Most of the time, I feel like the biggest truck in the parking lot, even when I park next to other 4Runners. But on occasion, someone with a 3" lift and 35's parks next to me. Doesn't matter if it's a 4Runner or not, it makes me feel like I'm getting into a Corolla.

 

Finally installed my new Sherpa Crestone. Its been sitting in my garage for a few weeks. Made some adjustments after I took this photo, it sits much lower in the front now. Very happy with it.

 

My son and I finished mounting the switch panel in the cab today. Thank you @Photon_Chaser for all of your help and ideas on mounting. We pulled the wire through the firewall and up the A-pillar (being very careful of the airbag) and through the headliner. I added washers on the left and right side of the bracket as the control panel is a little rounded and didn't want it rocking left and right when engaging the buttons. Next weekend we will do the wiring in the engine bay.

 

Added a pair of LP9 behind the grille and a pair of VLED V50 Monochromes as hi beams in place of the DRL.

 

I used my 4runner this weekend. 100% stock (besides the rusty hitch I sanded/painted) but we're outside & loving life

 

That’s amazing! I have an auxbeam in my Tacoma and love it! That’s a great, out of the way mounting location. Mine is on the dash by the A pillar and I’m concerned that someone will think it’s worth busting a window over. Your mounting location is very out of sight, out of mind until you know it’s there. Great job!!!

 

Thank you, we are taking it slowly. Hopefully next weekend I will have the ARB air compressor installed as well.

Ok. So I also attached this as well. Upper Black grill cap. I got this on Amazon. I did this to match my black TRD Off Road Premium roof rack, and my black side steps bars on my 19 Limited. I want to leave a little bit of chrome throughout the body, but next I want to add a black OEM antennae , and then focus on wheel tire package.

 

The black upper chrome cover is a little bit cheesy, and they should’ve done the entire bar instead of just the chrome front to cover. Wonder where I can get a OEM one or that covers the entire bar?

 

My Odo says 24,000 miles but it should be like 26,000 because of 34s? When is a good time to change the Transmission and Transfer case fluids? I have done a lot of offroading, but no towing yet.

 

Did the black overlay thing, hate chrome, waiting on some Weather Tech stuff.
