What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Only the ‘24’s!

 

Replaced the Power Steering fluid. The hardest part was to remove the return hose. It was stuck there. I had to remove the 3 bolts to remove the reservoir just to get a better grip.
Other than that, it's a 10 minute job.
Used Toyota ATF/ PS fluid.

 

Depends on the speed of the collision. The long hitch creates a lot more leverage to bend the frame. Could be the difference between an expensive repair and getting totaled.

 

Exactly what happened to an acquaintance. Stopped at the lights and some one rammed from the rear at enough speed . The other car took considerable damage, their radiator was completely punctured but my friends frame was also bent.

 

I have the new standard, non-actuated Starlink running off 12V. It turns out the dish fits nicely in the sunroof and works great there. I don't think I'd drive with it that way, but it's great when parked.

 

Looks quick to mount and safe from theft or vandalism.

Any issue with the heat being generated from the sun coming through the glass and/ or the reflected heat being trapped by the glass?

 

Not yet, but we'll see in the heat of summer. There is some airspace around it, and you could also open the sunroof on a hot day! It is pretty stealthy too. I have the router mounted on my molle panels in the back.

Hey @EatSleepTacos - how did you secure all the extra wires, the DRL box, etc.? I found a set someone had not installed, but I can't see a way to secure all that.

 

I did not know that. Yes, the lugs came marked from Toyota.

Cool thing, the tires are made in 2023 in Japan. My ride is 100% Japanese made!

Based on your profile looks like its a Pro. Sadly Pro's get lot of parts added in the USA. They are not 100% from Tahara factory Japan.

When dealer installs accessories, they are not required to update that to final assembly in USA.
