5th Gen 4Runner Trunk/Luggage Lights - 1 of 2 Working

Hello world!

I have a 2023 ORP, finally got around to some minor quality-of-life improvements (LED lights)

I started with the license plate lights, then the trunk/luggage/rear hatch interior lights. Important note - before I replaced the latter, I noticed one if them was not working regardless of the switch selections made (on/door/etc.). After replacing both bulbs with LEDs, it still does not work.

I thought it may be a fuse, but from what I can gather, both lights are on the same fuse and if one's working, that's not the issue..

The only idea I have is that when removing the old license plate lights & inserting new ones, I somehow affected the wiring on the interior? It's the only other thing I've changed recently.

Any advice is welcomed. Overall, not the end of the world as one LED back there is still brighter than the OEMs..

 

Have you tried flipping the LED light around in the socket? Also check to see if you have it on off.

 

Ah ha. Unplugged the housing on the working side, plugged it into the one that's not working. And it worked! So it's the housing itself, I suppose

 

Damn, that's gotta be frustrating,
I just swapped these cargo lights for diodes myself.
Sounds like there's a wiring or light housing issue .
You fancy new 4R's have warranty for that don't you
