6" Fabtec Suspension Lift 35x12.5 Fuel Gripper M/T Tires 18" Fuel - Vapor Wheels
    Hello fellow 'Runners'

I recently purchased a 2015 White SR5 Premium 4Runner that I lifted with a 6" Fabtec suspension on 35" Fuel Gripper M/T tires mounted on 18" Vapor (all Black) Wheels.

    20180520_173154.jpg 20180520_173136.jpg 20180520_173043.jpg 20180520_173111.jpg

When I purchased this truck it had a (poorly) installed leveling kit with 33" Dominator (overly aggressive) M/T tires mounted to 17" XD wheels. The wheels had 2.5" back-spacers on em and had to go! There were multiple occasions prior to my correcting the suspension and tires that I would find rubber 'shards along the sides of the body that had ripped off from the poor set-up and obnoxiously aggressive tires that were put on it. But, I had a vision and could not pass up the price on it!

I also replaced all of the fender flares with brand new Bushwacker Flares too...the originals were also installed...poorly and were pulling away from the body.

Now I am very happy with the changes I have made to her. (not done either....hehehe)

I also have a 2001 Green SR5 Limited 4Runner with 203k miles on her. I put a 3.5" Toytec suspension lift on her with 33" Nitto G2 tires. I have had this girl for sometime and she has been a great truck....and I am still not ready to part with her quite yet.

Below is a picture of my girls a couple days after I brought home the 2015, before the 6" lift and tire upgrade.

    20180315_174916.jpg

...and another of just the 2001...

    20180223_145106.jpg
I have a skid plate for the 2015 being fabricated because the one that was on her when I bought it no longer fits/works with my current set-up. I am itching to take her out and have some fun but do not want to risk damage to my underside until I get that plate on.

Thank you pvdubber! I dig your pick-up and wife's 4Runner as well! Both sweeeeet rides!

....Couldn't pass up the deal on the white one! Saw it online and when to the dealer, walked around the corner, saw it, shook my head and said to myself "DAMN! I am gonna buy this thing, you are such a weak bastard!" LOL

My 2001 has been garage kept since I purchased her...unfortunately she got kicked out cause of her new (bigger) lil sister.

I know the feeling, when we saw ours my wife face lit up, and I knew we were going home with it.

I like the black valance on yours. I was going to do the whole TRD Pro Grille swap but I might just have to do the valance. Nice purchase!

Thanks John, I am itching to get her out and have some fun but want to protect my investment with a skid plate first. Hope to have that on soon!

Reeeeeaaaaallllly, want to take a trip out to your side of the country and try some of the trails in Colorado soon too!!!

Thank you Joel, me too! I prefer it to the swap out, mostly because it isn't a TRD and I am not planning to make it look like one....with the exception of maybe a hood swap, I dig the TRD hoods! Hahaha.

I want to look into wrapping the valance instead of the paint work on it. It is beginning to show some wear from road damage (rocks n stuff). Either way I love the look it takes on with the black!

Did you install a new valance or plastidip/vinyl wrap?

Edit* i see that you are looking to wrap it, which is what I'm leaning towards with my stock valance to save some money as well. I saw on a thread of putting the "Pro" part of the TRD Pro badge to make it an "SR5 Pro" Kinda dig it lol

From what it looks like the previous owner did a combo of paint and then the dip...but not completely sure. Was done when I purchased the truck, but I definitely want to look at wrapping....and will absolutely post some before and afters if/when I do ;)

What was the estimate they gave you (if you don't mind sharing) and what portions are you getting done?

Changed my mind....gunna get the grill and valance coated with bed liner! Will take more of a beating in the long run! (I hope) Planning to have it done weekend after next, getting my steps done too.

Sorry just seeing this somehow... I did the cross bar bumper and the lower valance and I paid $400 total. Pretty pricey for the work but well worth it. I've taken it on a few moderate/hard trails already and it isn't marked up at all. 1B00C45C-3C58-4C5A-90D2-211E9B6DF391.jpg 4runner.jpg

    Nioce!

I finally have gotten some time to post pics of the bed-liner spray work I had done on my front end...Before and after

    BeforeAfterBedLinerGrill.jpg

    ...and the steps too!

    BeforeAfterBedLinerSteps.jpg

the dip work that was done on the grill originally was taking a beating from general road driving so I wanted something that would take anything I am gunna throw at it (outside of hitting a tree..LOL).

Ended up coming out FAR better than my expectations!! SOOO happy that I went with the bed-liner spray option!

Yeah that looks really good man! Maybe I'll go that route if and when it gets beat up but I've taken it on a few trails and it has helpd up fine so far. Curious, how much was it and did you do it yourself? Also, it looks like you take that bad boy on trails, why are you using steps over sliders? I had steps when I first got mine but sold them 2 months after because I lost several inches of clearance and realized they could do more damage to my panels than protection.

Cost me round 300 for all the spray work. I did not do it myself, i figured for that price I would let the pros handle it.

I have not yet taken her out yet. Waiting for my guy to finish fabricating the front skid plate for me. Has to custom fabricate it because of the sway bar up front. Want to be sure to protect the cash I dropped into her before I have some fun. The steps came with the truck when I purchased her.....so not sure whether the clearance will give me any headaches or not yet.

with that 6" lift & 35's (depending on how crazy you like to get) should do pretty well in keeping those steps from hitting much... my steps are removable just in case I want to do some rock crawling...I have managed to take it on a few good trails and only had to remove the steps one time...I don't intend on trying to balance my rig on any rocks much either.

No plans to crawl any rocks, now or in the future. Like my snow, mud n dirt. LOL
I am thinking I have the height covered...now gotta cover the front with that skid plate. ;)

Yeah I hit a few rocks with my 3" lift when I had the steps on so I took them off the next day. Installed sliders a week later. Didn't realize you had a 6" lift. Your clearance should be fine. I just didn't want to risk doing severe damage to my panels. When I did red cone pass in Colorado I would have wrecked my rig if it weren't for the sliders.
