TRD off road>> Out for the first time ( only 340 miles driven) on two-lane highway and had multiple vehicles flash high beams at me. And yes my high beams were on off. I was carrying no extra weight. Do I need to have the headlights adjusted?

It's worth checking. However, the headlights are high and bright, so getting flashed seems to be fairly comment for owners of recent 4Rs.

    Agreed with @backpacker .

I think I've been flashed (and not in the good way) in this 4Runner more than any other vehicle I've owned, even when it was stock.

But, it's certainly worth checking that they're aimed correctly.

I never get flashed but I also adjusted them correctly after doing a lift and changing tires. When I tow, I'll get a good weight distributing hitch as well. Way too many people towing and never consider where their headlights are aimed.

I think people are not yet used to the new LED headlight technology. Many new cars have the same issue. Headlights look crisp but not "piercing" but once the angle of the headlights of an oncoming car gets above a certain point you get a feeling of being hit with high-beams. e.g. hits a bump, comes over a rise etc.

That being said, adjusting the headlights is very easy. A phillips screwdriver is all it takes. When I lifted my 4runner, I took it out on the road and could tell they needed to be angled down.

I parked it in the garage and marked the line of the top of the beam with tape. Turned the adjustment screw "x" number of times until I thought it was low enough. I believe I lowered them 1.5" or so. Took it back out on the road and could tell they were much better... maybe just a bit too low. On a dark road, you'll get a sense of "out-running your headlights" if they are too low.

This is a pretty good write up. I did this on my new 4Runner with the OEM headlights and then the Morimotos I installed. I def got flashed after my lift and tires. Even with older eyes I have great visibility at night and I don't get flashed anymore. It's a lot easier to do than people think.

I just picked up a 2024 and have the opposite problem. The lights were aligned so low I didn't feel safe going over 50mph on a dark rural Interstate (without the brights on). The cutoff is so sharp that anything above is pitch black. I tried bringing the headlights up quite a bit which made it better but still lacking. So tonight I lined it up against other vehicle on garage door and raised them further.

In photo, an F-150 with OEM LEDs is on the left, the 4Runner is on the right (this is after first time I tried raising them, but before the second).

I experienced same ‘aimed WAY low’ with my 24. Luckily it is easy to adjust them, didn’t waste time asking dealer to do it. Made mistake asking dealer to do simple wheel balance.

Nice, I gotta do this still

LolI don't even wanna know what they butchered regarding simple wheel balance. I've heard horror stories on here about Dealership flunky's. West Coast Toyota offered to wash my truck for me this week after hundreds of dollars in service, the thing was pretty muddy...they literally didn't touch the wheels.
I'm like oh yeah, of course, no why would I want clean wheels

They never did the freaking wheel balance after waiting 2 1/2 hour, when I asked WTF, the manager told me I might need an wheel alignment and that’s when I lost it and said I’m going somewhere else, take it off the the damn rack.
Headed down the street to local tire shop and was in and out in less than an hour, front left was off by 1/2 oz, RR was off by 1.5 oz. Vibration fixed.
