I used a slightly different product from Ammo NYC called Reflex. It’s not a true ceramic coating as it needs to be redone every 12 months or so. I put 2 coats on my 4Runner about a month ago and it’s holding up great so far. The Reflex isn’t a “hard” coating and allows the paint to “move” as Larry from Ammo says. Big fan and it’s only $60 for the little container, it’ll do the 4Runner probably twice. Super easy to apply as well which is always a plus.

Just bought the Garmin InReach with mount, along with a 9.7 inch ipad and swivel...did a bunch of research on maps and think that the Garmin paired with the iPad and Garmin's Earthmate GPS Navigation would be best. The iPad has the cellular feature, so if I can grab a signal I won't need satellite coverage; but, it will be nice to have the satellite coverage for emergencies, texting, emails, and phone. The subscription can be one month at a time, so I can just pay for it when I need it.

Also, I should add that the Earthmate allows you to download maps beforehand (when at home, for example, and using Wi-Fi) to use when off roading; meaning, there is no need to have any signal, but the GPS will follow the map automatically.

Waxing over a true ceramic coating will not do anything for the finish, and it may actually leave a dull haze that wipes off, which takes all the wax off. I have a Ceramic Pro coating on mine and I use a spray gloss finisher by Wolfgang after washes. The manufacture rep from Ceramic Pro tells me it does nothing (benefit, or harm), but it makes me feel a bit better.

All day.... I started at 10am washing it with spray foam and then again with dawn dish soap to strip everything. Had to clay bar and then spray down the surface with alcohol. Then you have to coat it with ceramic which in 80 degrees with 35% humidity you have to work in small sections because it flashed so fast. It took about 6 hours in total. But I did take a few breaks because my hands got too sweaty my gloves kept slipping off.

I used CQuartz UK and it’s hard to tell so far. But I think it’ll be better than wax just because it’s hard as hell. I had some reminence of a bug I missed and it’s stuck there. I tried to pick it off but it’s under the ceramic so no dice. Only time will tell if it holds up the two years it’s rated for.

Regular wax no. But they make a lot of sio2 sprays. Which creates a slicker hydrophobic coating over the ceramic. Which does actually work. There’s many many different brands. I’ve only used Carpro Reload because it came with the CQuartz. But man it was a noticeable difference. Ceramic itself doesn’t feel very slick. So when you coat it now it’s like butter and is protected to the fullest.

88A9E9AA-3FC5-41F5-901F-C14DC5AD43A3.jpg Had a Cat. back Gibson exhaust kit installed. Nice sound!
I ordered the kit from a company whose info said it would fit my 2018. After 2 weeks and they didn’t ship it I canceled the order. When I went to Amazon to order the Gibson their info said it would not fit. Hmmmm. I checked the Borla part number and it’s the same number for the 2018 and a few years prior. So I figured it has to be close and ordered it. Of course after i order I call Gibson and ask if the part number I bought will fit and they said they will have one out in about a month that fits... opppps
I figured I’m not going to try it but i was sure a muffler shop could. I was right it took the guy about 30 minutes to install and weld it up. The installer said he had to cut the last pipes a little to get them level.
So I’m all happy driving home listening to a nice growl noise and stop for a bite. While I’m in the drive I hear this horrific noise, I see a car beside me and figure it’s them... It’s not, it’s me rattle from f-ing rattle hell... embarrassing to say the least.
I don’t panic because I have a good idea of what it is. I get home let the truck cool and climb under grab the exhaust and shake the hell out of it until it Rattles. I find the spot and it’s the heat shield. I bend it easily out of the way and no more rattle at all!
You guys that installed a after market exhaust and are being drove crazy by rattle, 9 out of 10 times it’s a ridiculously easy fix...

For a while I noticed my back license plate against or looked like it was against the body on the bottom edge. I had two black foam spacers that came on the vehicle but did not space out the middle. When I removed it I noticed it had already started rubbing the white paint off. What you see in the picture is after I waxed off the black chafing of the plate. I then spaced the top with a couple stainless washers and added a few pieces of small weather strips pieces I had laying around. It now has a nice space between the tag and the body.

That’s great to hear and I’ll be ordering my own this week…Thanks for sharing with us. Question: Does the loop bar have mounting tabs for old school driving or fog lights?… just curious because I could not find anything in specs on WARN website.

    None yet!
Ordered the RAGO modular storage panels, on-sale through tonight for $275/pair. Got the ditch brackets, hidden grille light brackets and relay holder in last week. KC 20" light bar came in on Friday. Now time to just get it installed. Battery pack for a RIGID light came in and actually ordered another light and battery pack to keep in the 4R as well. Now to just find some ditch lights and get to wiring.
