What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Weird, when I bought my OR they asked if I wanted to finance in any of the Pro parts haha. I declined but ended up sourcing the heritage front and the valences after I realized how much more I liked that look. But for me the pro wasn't really a thought as I planned on eventually replacing big parts of what make the pro a pro.

And here's the culprit (fyi: took me FOREVER looking over the video to figure out where the rock came from, but here it is):



If you watch the video, and "start/stop" very quickly around the 14 second mark, watch the clouds, and you can see it. If you watch at regular speeds, you gonna miss it.

 

If you pause the video, you can use the "." (period) key to go frame by frame forward and "," comma key to go backward. You can see it appear in the clouds shortly after the 16 second mark. I can't tell where it came from before that though.

 

Got my 4Runner undercoated at Krown.

 

Mostly likely got thrown from the white Chevy truck that was in front of my that day. But video was taken in rural Arkansas, so you know the rest.

 

Took a nasty rock the other day, good thing I already had five little cracks.

 

That sucks!! My two FJ's were notorious because they were so vertical, NO chance of deflections. Jeeps have same issue.

 

Wish you the best to get a new Toyota glass from insurance. I've heard it very challenging to get a Toyota glass. Seems like they always approve for cheap aftermarket glass.

 

Yeah Geigo makes you go through "Safelite" Had my 15 Tacoma TRD Sport replaced by them. 1st day @ my work the guy's vehicle died & he couldn't get to work. 2nd day girl showed up & there was possible rain that day (Not her fault) BUT when I got home & isnp she had scratched paint above D/S of the roof. I will NEVER use Safe Flite again & their glass IS softer MORE Susceptible to pitying vs OEM Glass. JMHO

 

Ha. I got mine undercoated at Underline in Port Huron today (They use Fluid Film coatings).

 

My experience also. Their glass seems very weak.

 

Just finished up putting the Cali raised cat shields on. Now wait till I can test drive it to listen for any noises.

Finally installed my Cali raised rock sliders. Spray can paint job, I left the plates primed cause I think it looks cool. I figure I will eventually paint it black as I touch it up over time.

If you live in the rust belt, let us know how it held up to the salt blast. After 3 snow storms, my sliders were to bare metal in places. Behind the front tires was the most vulnerable area. I redid them, , with POR 15. So far, so good.

 

Yikes! I got one at 5k miles, but it's not that bad. I'm going to see how long it takes to spread before replacing it.

 

Had two very small stone chips on the D pillar that resulted in rust spots.
Evapo rusted it, sanded it, degreased it, metal etched it and then POR 15. Then added touch up paint on top of POR15 for color match and protect it from UV damage.
That thing is not going anywhere.

And gas is actually super low right now @ $1.65/liter CAD = $4.75/gallon USD ($6.45/gallon CAD). It was $2.40/liter CAD or $6.70/gallon USD earlier this year
Not a great feeling leaving gas stations, hah!
My wheels n rubber are 89lbs a piece, plus many un-aerodynamic mods

Stopping and putting it in neutral is only for 4Lo. When in 4Hi you can shift out of it (back in 2WD) at any speed while still being in Drive (D)

$4.75/gallon? I just drove by the Kroger gas station, and gas is $2.79/Gallon. Dang, you canucks are really getting the shaft right now. If gas prices doubled, and my SloRunner started getting 14MPG, I would park it in the garage and stop driving it.
