Got bilstein 5100 x4 2.5"/1" lift

My 2022 t4r trd off road rides so much better now. No more nose dive, bumps seem softer yet the suspension seems much more solid. I went with stock coils in front and 2.5" ring on the bilstein and 1.5" bilstein coils in the rear.

 

That looks great- nicely balanced. Kudos for keeping the Off Road wheels instead of going with the black TRD's.

 

Amen. I too dislike downgrading to skinny TRD Pro wheels from wider TRD Offroad wheels.

What size are the wildpeaks?

Here’s mine with 5100’s with 2” Dobinsons 302 springs in front and 1” Dobinsons 599’s in the rear!

That's about exactly what I want to do. I have ARB 2883s, 5100s and air bags for rear. I have a 1 inch coil spring spacer for rear, but I will try bags and shocks and see what I have. Xreas leaking anyway I was thinking of 2" front shocks and see if springs give me 2.5 total on front. Rear is jacked already on limited and higher load rating. I was looking at those wheels to. Cheap to scratch for the money. I missed a set that didn't have the black and I liked them. I never seen again yet. I'm learning the offset

waiting on my TRD ORP to hit the dealers lot and saw your post. This will be my 4th 4Runner, it’s my office generally get 275-300,000 each model. My only issue is the body roll, it’s doesn’t bother me, but my passengers often complain. Did the Bilstein and lift help correct this issue? Thanks for the imput.

I'm new here, planning on ordering my first 4Runner in the very near future. The stock wheels pictured are wider than the TRD Pro Wheels? I was planning on ordering mine with options package 50 (TRD Performance Package) which includes the front TRD skid and the 17" Glossy Gunmetal Gray Cast Aluminum Wheels. So I hit Google looking for info and it looks like the upgraded wheels are 7" wide vs. 7.5" for the stock wheels (stock for TRD offroad). Is this true? Looks like this forum saved me some money already. Probably need to skip the TRD front skid and payless for a better aftermarket skid too.

 

Wheels -
Yes, Stock TRD Offroad wheels are 7.5x17in with +15 offset -> Advantage - 7.5in width will allow you to mount 285/75R17 (34in) tires with in tire manufacturers recommendation of minimum width requirement. +15 offset will have minimum rub.


Stock SR5 & TRD Pro wheels are 7x17in.

Skids -

TRD front skid for sure is a better looking skid. But its just a half skid. Behind that you have the regular skids that come on every 4Runner. I've had problems dealership tech not tightening the skid properly or cross threading the bolts on oil changes. Its really worth getting aftermarket skid where you get more protection and also have a maintenance window for oil changes.





The aftermarket skids also allow you to extend the skids all the way down to transfer case.


It is just me, I like dealership not to do any upgrades to my 4Runner. I like to do it myself and sell the stock stuff to reduce my expenses. I've sold my stock tires & skids on FB marketplace / Craigslist.

Yes, the Pro wheels, whatever the finish, are 7" wide. The TRD skid has no access panel to allow an oil filter change without removing the skid, so an aftermarket skid is usually better.
