hello guys, i just bought some TRD pro black matte rims 17”. I am wondering if anyone here has put on Maxxis Razr MT’s 285/70/17 on it. Called 4wheel parts and they told me that it could rub my control arm because he had that problem on a fee Tacomas he did. Would i need to buy 1.5 wheel spacers or could i get by without um? BTW im open to other suggestions for tires, i just want tge aggressive look and prefferably 275 or 285/70/17. What yall think?

Without a lift you cannot fit 285's. You should be able to clear 275/70/17 without modifications.

You know that 285's are not suited for the 7" Pro rims don't you? All 285's that I can find specify 7.5 to 9" rims including the Maxxis Razr MT's. I realize you can get away with it, but it is not recommended and some tire dealers will likely not install 285's on 7" rims.

I went with these Cooper STT’s 265/70/17 on the TRD pro rims.

You can do it and many do, but if you look at the specs on the 285's, they are not supposed to be mounted on 7" rims.
