So about a couple months ago my 4Runner started doing this. At first it was only once in a while, now it’s happening kore frequently. I haven’t gotten into any accidents, haven’t ever taken it off road, nor have I done any work to it other than the needed oil changes. So here’s the mystery problem!

When I'm driving, 70 mph and above, if I put on my right turn signal the vehicle starts jerking, like jumping forward, while losing speed at the same time and the reverse light on the dash blinks in time with the turn signal. As soon as I turn off the turn signal it goes back to normal and picks up speed.

ANY IDEAS?!?! Really trying to avoid the dealership lol

I want to travel and camp and will do Mod's necessary to do this with a 4runner.
Some reasonable troubleshooting is in order here. Have you tried to duplicate this condition at speeds that are higher or lower than 70 mph? If not, you should. If the condition duplicates itself, you should have a log of the speeds you were driving while the condition occurred. Also, did you have the speed set using the auto-throttle?

But what ever, these conditions certainly point to an electrical issue and that will not only be tricky to find, but also expensive. A dealer might not be the first choice but a very highly experienced auto electric mechanic tech could be a better place to start. No matter what, it sounds expensive.

Yes I have duplicated it. It happens at any speed above 70 and it also happens while on cruise control. It doesn’t happen below 70. It started randomly a couple months ago and started happening more often the last couple weeks.
