BFG K02 275/55/20

My son is trying to convince me that I should install BFG K02 275/55/20 on my 2019 limited. Based on what I've read my concern is rubbing. Is it an issue?

 

Not sure about rubbing as when I install Falken Wildpeak AT3W 275/55/20 I had a little lift.

Even though I don't have personal experience with BFG KO2 275/55/20 I want to point that practically (after mounting) 275/55/20 tires have very little sidewall. I see no benefit. Also remember BFG KO2 275/55/20 are load range D which will more likely give you a hash ride. Low profile tires have firm side wall and a load D would make it even worse.

I'm a big fan on 17in wheels and tires. Depending on the color take off TRD Offroad wheels / TRD Pro wheels with 265/70R17 tires might be a better option. Sorry if you don't like 17in options. Its just a thought since I went that route and extremely happy about it (especially since Mrs is not a careful driver.).

 

It may be an issue, it may not be. These vehicles have factory allowances, so each vehicle is slightly different. So some owners say it'll rub others won't. They are both right. If you are changing wheels, that also plays a part.
As @kmeeg pointed out, KO2 275 itself is an issue.
I have gone down the rabbit hole of larger tires and ultimately decided it is not for me, for now. Who knows I may change my opinion 60K miles down.

 

fwiw, i went with Michelin defender 275/55/20’s on my ‘23 Limited Xreas.
Zero rub.
Hwy and in town ride is super smooth super quiet.
Graded forrest road ride is sweet.
In sofla so not much harsh off-road action.
Depends on how hard you want to take it.
Agree with kmeeg 100% 17 in rims and deeper sidewalls.

Was the "Michelin defender 275/55/20’s on my ‘23 Limited Xreas" - Beefer or Tall or More aggresive loooking than OEM?
No Shimmys ?
No extra leaning in corner?

 

As a previous Limited trim owner, I third the suggestion of going with a 17" wheel if you're going to do KO2 tires. I had a blizzard pearl and the ORP wheels looked so much better than the factory Limited wheels.

I went to a local Kal Tire this morning and one of their Techs took a look at the wheel wells and stated there would be no problem with rubbing with lots of room. I have after market rims on now so won’t go to 17’s.
Install planned for next week

definitely more aggressive looking than OEM however, 17 in rims with more sidewall are more “off road business” like.
I really like the OEM 20 in wheels because they are easier to keep clean.
Also: zero shimmy.
My Xreas does lean in the turns more than I would like but I don't think its the 20 in wheels or the 55 sidewalls.
Prob need beefier torsion bars if that is available.
