Went shopping yesterday and saw this sr5 we are kind of drooling over. Here is the list of mods the dealer has done.

Wondering if this is a smart way to go though. Would it be better to just buy a stock one, and add stuff later, as some of these prices look a little high. Also wondering what they do with the original wheels? I suppose in a case like this, the dealer just keeps them, instead of me selling them on craigslist :)

Haven't started negotiating yet, so want to know the best way to approach this...

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
buy the upgrades on your own, you will save a lot of money on what they are charging you. Also you wont end up financing the cost of the upgrades in with the loan. That does look pretty sweet though

they jacked up the cost of the added work. this sr5 looks like my 2016 sr5 white but I have the stock toyota wheels . my sr5 sticker price 36K I purchased it for 34K 2K off sticker .. premium model.

the optional equipment is 2x/3x over the cost. so I would offer 5K less than the asking price.. or buy a stock one and install the optional equipment you want for much much less..

having sold cars before at GM/toyota dealership this is how they make extra $$$ with these ad on toys..

I paid $200 for those trail boards took 1 hour to install .. I could do it now in 30 MIN easy..

It's done up and the price reflects that. If it were me, I'd do it myself.
Negotiating isn't my strong point, wrenching is though because I gotta Jeep too.

    Steve

I got a set of stock wheels to get rid of too.

Buy stock and do it yourself. Besides those running boards are awful, just recently replaced mine. The emblems can be plasit dipped. You can add a higher lift if you want and better tires than what they prob added.

I bought my trail stock and made it in to a better pro cheaper than paying msrp and waiting a month for it. Which worked out since i hate leather anyway.

If you "do it yourself", we can all enjoy watching you mod it on here!

Thanks, this is helpful! I'm a diy'er, so definitely would rather do stuff myself. Thinking I may explore having them do the leveling kit, and maybe wheels, but nothing else.

Funny thing is that's about right for that wheel and tire combo including mount, balance and TPMS. Wonder if you get the stock wheels.

Honestly the prices on that stuff with labor is about right, emblems for $670 is a little bullshit though.

I paid $45,818 for my Pro out the door to help with a little perspective as well.

This accessories department is the one that has done all my installs so far and they are awesome, the work will have been done with quality installation. They are actually going to be the ones to switch out my icon stage 1 suspension I had them install last year and putting on my kings next week. (They've also installed my Hefty Fab front and rear bumpers, prinsu full length rack, and much more. Looking at the prices on that sticker I agree they did a great job keeping the prices reasonable for the work they did (if you buy it separate their labor rate is approx $90 hour and I'm not sure if they have increased the price of that recently as they have kept it the same rate for me since Ive done a lot of work with them) (Mule in Issaquah is closer to $120 hour so if you were to build one up and don't have the skills yourself to do the installs these prices listed on the sticker are pretty dang good) Just bought SCS wheels from them a month or two ago and knowing what the K02s cost new at that size they are marking it up only a tiny bit, if at all with balancing and alignment factored in. Those running boards are not great though, maybe see if they will at least switch them out for N fabs, those at least look better if your looking for an actual step rather than a slider.

I'd buy a pro in a heartbeat, but I was told there is a 6-9 mo waiting list at both dealers I went to here. That's why the pricing on used pro's are so crazy.

That s exactly what I was thinking. Prices really aren't that far off except the emblems. My local dealer does this but they mark everything up at least 3 or 4 times the value and add a "Special edition" fee.

Still I would say either buy stock and customize yourself or spend that much and get a Pro.

when they say leveling kit do they just mean they are lifting the front or is it one of those 3/2 lifts to level it? I just bought a 2018 SR5 premium 4wd and want to level it in the front but am being told there is no level kit for just the front, I need to do a 3/2 lift. is that correct info?

You can level with just a set of Bilsteins in front

Ok thanks! I was curious to know if the white 4runner that said it had a Revteck leveling kit was just a front leveling kit or a 3/2 spacer kit. It looks very good.

Yeah, I plan on talking to Marie. I was just at my dealer in Houston and he said they actually do bilstein lifts and 3/2 spacer lifts. He said the majority they do are the spacers because the ride is best to stay factory shocks and most people in Houston, like me, are just going for the look. I “might” see some dirt roads and dirt hills. Lol. He told me the bilsteins are fine but when I drive on pavement, I will feel every bump cause they ride rough. Any truth? I have never driven a vehicle with bilsteins so i just have to trust others opinions.

I understand where he is coming from, and yes, most people just want the "look". Still, if you have anything like the potholes we do up in the great white north, it's best to stay away from him. My Tacoma had Bilsteins and i plan to do a level lift with them on my 4runner. I never thought they rode rough. On the Tacoma side, most people who have the sports often clain the TRDOR rides better with the Bilsteins. You won't get a 3/2 lift out of them unless, but quality isn't cheap.

You’re better off buying stock. I bought my SR5 PREM 2 weeks ago. Bought XD822 rims and BFG AT K02 tires for $2k and sold stock rims and tires for $800 so my cost was only $1,200.
