Is there a switch inside the console or something that goes bad and results in the wipers not shutting off (and occasionally the fluids squirts too!)? Any help is appreciated. - Eric

Not sure on second gens but on other cars if the multi function switch goes bad (wiper stalk on steering column), weird things happen.

    Probably the switch.

Try taking it apart and disconnecting see if it stops.

Thanks! Is that switch inside the steering column or at the end of the "wiper stalk"?

Yes. Both. It is a switch at the end of the wiper stalk and in the steering column. Some old school cars, you could unscrew the stalk, but newer ones with dials on the tip, it's all one assembly.
