I just bought a 2017 TRD Off Road and am thinking about swapping out the rims for the black ones on the TRD Pro, but had a few questions.

Are there any benefits or negatives to the Pro wheels vs. the Off Road wheels?

Will the pro wheels and tire combo fit the Off Road without any issues?

Are there any parts I would need besides the tires and wheels to make the swap?

Has anybody used the stock TRD Off-Road tires with the TRD Pro wheels?

    Thanks.

    None, yet.
Pro wheels will work fine, only real benefit other than looks is they are a lower offset wheel which will push them out just a tiny bit farther giving you a wider stance.

You can use the stock tires with the pro wheels however if you plan on doing any off-roading I would take that chance to get some new more aggressive AT's.

FL Runner is correct. Direct replacement, you even use the OEM lug nuts and TPMS. If you are getting wheels then just replace the shit-ass tires with better ones at this time (duplicity of labor, and such). But if you choose not to replace the tires, yes, the OEM tires fit on the TRD wheels.

Something to keep in mind is that the TRD Pro wheels are actually narrower (7") than the TRD Off Road wheels (7.5"). Because of this the TRD Pro wheels per tire manufacturers is not a recommended fitment for 285 tires and above. So if you ever plan to run 285's I would look at a different wheel. This isn't to say it can't be done because plenty have, its just not an optimal fitment.

The Pro wheels are also 5 lbs. lighter per wheel.

Bilstein 6112 and 5160 with Bilstein rear coils. SPC UCA s, TRD Pro wheels, Shrockworks sliders, Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17
I swapped out my trail wheels for Pro wheels. I went with Nitto Ridge grapplers 265-70-17 which are stock size. Reused the sensors from my stock wheels.

Plasti-dip - first time using it and came out ok. Was looking for an emblem overlay kit but this will do for now. Going to work on the back emblem next weekend.

Put TRD Pro Wheels on my 2016 Trail Premium and love them. Only ever going to do 265s/275s, so extra half inch of width not a big deal (I am told) and the half inch wider stance looks good. Will upgrade to AT2s when these tires wear out, but they ride great (got KDSS, which is awesome!-no lean in the curves). Never drove it with the original rims, but I would imagine having 5lbs less per rim also reduces the unsprung weight and probably enhances the responsiveness of the suspension? Ultimately - go with what you want. They both look great and, even better, the 4Runner does great on and off road!!

Not SEMA wheels... though these Icon Rebound (Bronze) replaced the rims that came on my Trail. 8.5 inches vs the 7.0 wide SEMA - currently I am using the OEM Dunlop with the intent on moving into 275 Cooper AT3 as this truck wants and really needs a knobby AT tire to look it's best! I'm strongly considering the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo to lift it 2.5 & 1.0

When you say you painted them...what did you paint? Sorry I just don't know but was it the outside of the tire? I'm getting these wheels for my son and maybe these tires also, not sure? I like the way this looks so just wondering what you did?
