I joined the forum about a month ago, and haven’t shared pics of our 4Runner yet. Here goes.

We took delivery in mid January to serve as our off-roader and wife’s daily driver, replacing her Jeep. It was a 3 month long wait, but worth it.

We quickly set about making some cosmetic changes. We removed the Yakima basket and sold it.

Replaced the factory body mounted sliders with the slightly stronger OEM frame mounted ones.

Added Husky liners and switched the shift knobs out for Teton Workshop knobs. Oh, wife also embraced the Toyota patch, er, whatever.

Next, the silver valences had to be replaced with black ones.

Next, off to the shop. I was going to do the lift, but we decided to have the axles regeared, and a front Eaton E-locker added, so just let the shop do everything. They did a great job.

Bilstein 6112/600lb springs, SPC uppers in the front, Bilstein 1” springs with 5160’s in the rear, 4.56 Nitro gears, ECGS heavy duty bushing, Eaton front locker, Fuel Coverts wrapped in 285/70r17 Nitto Trail Grapplers.

Looks great. You didn't waste any time before upgrading! Are the black bumper valances Toyota replacements, or did you have the silver ones wrapped/painted?

very nice! How do you like the regear…ECGS? Are you satisfied how it feels regeared? Are the gears quiet?

Nice! They are sold out but wanted matte black for the rear (front already replaced with lo pro bumper) - I'm on the notification list. Great find!

The regear is great, no gear hunting with the bigger heavier tires, and stock quite. The ECGS bushing was preemptive, so not noticeable.

Please share your thoughts about the Eton locker.

I was about to do it few years back but didn't. Still thinking to. Everything is stock (gears, tie rods, etc..) on mine though. So wasn't sure.

I also want something to remind myself that the front locker is on. I looked at a buzzer with a light but it may be annoyingly loud.

Please share what you think with a Eton front locker.

That is a really good idea! Heck even for the rear locker. I’ve left it engaged before on accident.

We haven’t had a chance yet to use it in the 4Runner yet, but we have used them without issue in a Jeep with aftermarket axles. The switch has a small “lock button” that must be pushed before the switch can be turned on.I will try to get a pic today.

Hey @kmeeg, here is a pic of the front e-locker switch. The top button on the switch is the “lock”. It must be pushed down before the switch will move.

Wondering if you only had to remove rear bumper and not front when installing the trd pro black valences.

Only the rear bumper. I was able to get my biscuit grabbers inside of the front to remove the clips for the front valence.
