Head unit help!

Hey everyone,

I am looking for some advice on a head unit for my 2019 4Runner Off Road Premium.
I recently had a Pioneer DMH-2660NEX installed and I have lost a lot of functionality and the sound is horrible.
I lost all steering wheel controls, compass display in the dash and mirror, SiriusXM, GPS, and the AM/FM radio reception is really poor.
I have been researching different head units but have not been able to find everything I’ve been looking for.

What I am looking for is:

1. Full Steering Wheel Controls functionality
2. Dash Compass heading display
3. Rear View Mirror Auto Dimm and Compass functionality
4. Wireless CarPlay
5. Glovebox iPod Aux input
6. iDatalink Maestro RR features
7. Revers camera productive lines, not just the static lines
8. Ability to add front camera / thermal cam

I am thinking that the Toyota 4Runner OEM 3.0 head unit with the addition of third party CarPlay and Maestro RR units added to it but I cannot find anyone who has done this anywhere online so I am not sure if it is even doable.

Any and all guidance or suggestions are welcome!

 

It sounds like the installer didn't do a good job. The sound quality should be better. I generally do not like Pioneer units due to their functionality. My current floating screen looks great but there's always issues.

@whippersnapper02, Thank you for the recommendations and links! I'm going to have to find someone else to check the install. The guy who did the install seemed to have rushed the job. Which floating unit did you go with? would you recommend it?

 

It’s a Pioneer. I wouldn’t recommend it and have been wanting to purchase a Sony unit from Trailgrid Pro.

Cannot figure out how the brain of the unit attaches to the faceplate
