What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Not today but over the weekend I installed these on all 4 corners. I'm not sure they're necessary but I like 'em!

 

Let us know how much of a difference they make.

 

The setup works really well. But I don't drive the truck everyday. I'm more curious to see if they prevent warping and provide longer life. Originals were replaced at 60K.

 

What make and model are the steps on your rig?

 

They are the Toyota brand Predator Tube step. They came with the truck when I bought it, believe they were installed at the port.

 

Since trading my 16' TRD Offroad Tacoma I have been looking for the ECT button on the 17' 4Runner TRD Off Road. Wait, I really don't need it...

 

I did the exact same thing. Even on 33s the 4.0 does very well. I'm very happy with the upgrade from the Tacoma.

 

I like the skid plate decal. I painted mine black and added the red decal too from an eBay seller kaos74 and it worked out perfect

 

What's your mpg on those st maxxs

 

Not quite ours yet, however this may be going down in a week or so.

@topdec Thanks, my wife and I pretty stoked about this one. Initially thought we were going with the SR5 Premium, however after going over mostly the pros on the TRD OR, my wife decided on the TRD OR. Happy wife, happy life!

I wanted all the offroad cool-aid even though I've only used them a few times

I also like the scoop. In my opinion it looks great and limits hood vibration.

 

12 hours ago we brought home my wife's 2017 TRD OR, upon removal of dealer installed front license plate frame bracket, I found a this sorry job.


Used the old dremel to grind them down.


Had these retaining clips left over from my Taco.


Capped off the holes, gonna hit the clips with some color matched silver later, but this will work for now.

 

I thought they only put it on if living in a 2 plate state? I do and hate front plate requirement... Ruining a front bumper cover chaps my arse...

 

@Rebelchurch I'm not sure if its a requirement in Missouri, however I'm military so I register it in my home of record. I'm not even sure if its required by my home state.

 

Yes. Missouri requires it and thats where I live. Still hate it. Haha.

 

Good to know, I'll see how long I can run it without the plates up front.

 

Buy a Trail or TRD Pro front bumper valance. That'll cover up the holes like they were never there. If you leave the plugs, at least paint them body color with Toyota paint so they blend in.

 

You could run without forever, assuming your wallet can keep up with the ticket costs. Depending on your local police department and how aggressively they enforce it, you may or may not have issues. Unfortunately for me, my local pd enforces it. Dont ask how i know... lol
