Just picked mine up in Tucson this morning and drove it back to Albuquerque. I took the back roads per the forums advice. Varied speeds and stopped several times, to break engine in correctly.

I traded in my 2023 TacomaTRD I just didn’t like the taco. They gave me a more than fair trade in only lost $2000 on it and got exactly what I wanted for sticker price. Luckily I called enough dealers back in December looking for a MGM SR5 stock 4x4. They called me 6 weeks ago and said they had one coming. The only add ones were floor mats and premium sounds. So they took my $500 deposit and stood by their word on the trade in value of the taco.

So much happier with the 4 runner. I already bought some TRD OR rims off someone on the forum so I plan on adding those and a 2” OME suspension all around. I’ve had OME on my trooper and my old Tacoma and loved the results. I’ll post pics once I build her out.

MGM changes color at Dusk versus Sunlight. I like the darker shade at night.
My first MGM. Always bought Black Trucks.
When should we apply the first Carnauba wax or Ceramic coating?

Once the weather gets better and things dry up I'd like to do a ceramic coating. I need to do some research on what to use and how to prep for it.

I'm no expert on Ceramic application. I considered a pro application till I got a price quote. Then I picked up some Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid and applied it myself. I waited about a month after delivery mostly due to the weather, till a nice day arrived about this time last year. I did a thorough wash, let it dry overnight, then did the simple apply. I reapplied last fall before the bad weather season, which never actually happened this year. And, a year later I will likely re-apply again this Spring. I use a Turtle Wax wash that is advertised for Ceramic use. Again, I'm not an expert, just happy with my results:

I've been thinking about trying the cerakote brand ceramic you can pickup online or Walmart for about $15. Seems simple enough...wondering if more than a good wash is recommended. Maybe a clay bar or a different cleaner/soap to get the old wax off before the ceramic?? Something I need to research when the time comes.

Well some quick googling and I found my answer...Wash with a detergent type soap. No extra wax or shine added. Then clay bar. Then polish...which I will probably skip...I have used a clay bar many times and it works wonders. I've never polished anything, nor do I have the equipment to do it.

Hand polish with a cutting compound, you're saying? I suppose one could. I'm hoping my paint is new enough it won't have many scratches or swirls and I can just wash, clay bar and ceramic coat.

Brought home our MGM SR5 three weeks ago. First trip off-road was a stroll on the foggy beach in Brigantine, NJ. Happy to report the paint and body survived unscathed from the mothball sized hail in the thunderstorm on the way home

MGM has ben my favorite color for a long time. I bought my first 4Runner ('18 ORP) Saturday. It's got a 3/2 lift and 285's. I'm in love with it (don't tell the wife!) I've got big plans for it, but it's great as it sits now. I really appreciate seeing y'alls mods and everything. It has given me some ideas... MY 2018 4Runner ORP.jpg

Just got my TRD rims installed today and took off my SR5 logos on both sides and the 4 RUNNER one off the back. Wanted to keep it simple and clean looking. I plan on keeping her forever and don’t want to see those plastic things cracking 10 years from now.

Morning fellow MGM fans. I'm happy to say that I will be joining the T4R community with my very first new vehicle.

I got lucky and found this one on the lot and acted fast. 2023 SR5 Premium 7 passenger. It will be replacing my 2009 RAV4 4WD Limited with leather.

Edit: I haven't taken delivery yet.

Yes, they are 285’s with a toytec 3/2 boss lift, except the back has bilstein shocks because toytec was unable to produce their shock.

Thanks. That Blue is nice too. So many good looking 4Runners of every color and they all look good. I kinda prefer the less vibrant colors for a more subtle look. Kind of like preferring a quiet exhaust with a supercharger under the hood. I did add a few stickers though to boost the HP numbers ;)
